This is not a professional guide to unveil all secrets. This is for people who don't have much time to explore, and simply want to focus on the story. In order to enjoy the peaceful music in ending, you need to:
1. defeat Vepar to gain access to Arvantville
2. talk to Dominique to receive the "Village Key"
3. defeat Zangetsu in Entrance to gain access to Dian Cecht Cathedral
4. defeat Craftwork in Dian Cecht Cathedral to get "Craftwork" shard
5. clear the statue and board Coachman's carriage in Garden of Silence
6. defeat Andrealphus in Livre Ex Machina to get "Double Jump" shard (now you can double jump)
7. defeat Valac in Towers of Twin Dragons to access the gold chest which holds "Silver Bromide"
8. take a photo in Arvantville to receive "Identification"
End of story doesn't mean end of the game, there are still plenty of things to do, many areas to explore, and too many items to acquire, shards, along with the quests of Landsay, Abigail and Susie. This game is totally worth playing Bloodstained Ritual of the Night is absolutely one of those games that nobody would like to resell it, or nobody can buy it in the first place because I never saw it in stores except for once the Switch version (well it's gone shortly). Oh I almost forget Benjamin, he's always missing anyway. There're also many secret bosses in the castle await you, whenever you feel lonely.
Some tips I find it useful but easily missed:
1) "Waystone" can bring you back to Arvantville immediately, extremely helpful when you got trapped, just in case 2) "Rhava Bural" is an easy-to-get lazy weapon, it drops from Killer Barber in Dian Cecht Cathedral 3) Silver chests will respawn so it's good to remember their positions 4) You can leave marks on the map by pressing a button, do take attention the number is limited 5) Press L2 to choose a Shortcut after acquired and set 6) Luck build is likely better except for bosses 7) Input NIGHTMARE in name entry will unlock difficult game modes instantly but, the effect is no turning back 8) "Carabosse" the faerie familiar will point out suspicious walls for you, she can heal and sing too 9) There's a secret enemy Kunekune in Bridge of Evil, on the train 10) "Heretical Grinder" directional shard is easy to use and get, yield from Blood Grinder Knight in Garden of Silence and Entrance 11) Check back to O.D. sometimes, he may has surprise for you12) When you get the Lethal Boots... 13) Crafting a new shard from another shard will not lose the original shard, so don't worry 14) The shard "High Jump" isn't only about jump, but most importantly it allows infinite jump which is basically a flying shard, better than "Invert" anyway, just don't miss it out like I did 15) Black Pepper, you can find it from silver chests in Underground Sorcery Lab later, it wasn't there at first, how tricky 16) You can change the screen size by putting on certain glasses 17) The map is not just showing areas, but it also indicates the chests you came across but missed, now this is very helpful
Interesting note:
1) "Bunnymorphosis" shard yield from Lili will turn you into her 2) "Ex Shovel Armor" drops from Shovel Armor will turn you into him 3) "Valkyrie Dress" from a green chest in Towers of Twin Dragons will change your outfit 16) "Voice Changer", a wall-item in Forbidden Underground Waterway, can change your voice 4) "Gebel's Glasses" can let you consume MP freely, it should be unlocked (as a green chest in Arvantville) after collecting all shards from enemies. No it should not, it will not, unless with more shards from an ally, you know who it is 5) "Recycle Hat" can let you fire ammo freely, it's the last reward from Susie 6) If you don't return the books to O.D., he will find you eventually, and when he does, you're dead 7) One of the special bosses Master Carpenter, he will craft a green chest if you let him to 8) Celeste's Room is nothing there, don't waste your time trying to turn this music box on and that one off hoping for something to happen 9) IGA the game producer is in the game, but likely only backers can fight with him. No, people can purchase the activation-key online 10) Look forward to more new features and DLCs in the future 11) After story end, you will unlock New Game+ (L2 in data select) which allows you to carry most of your equipments and shards to start over, Sound Mode and Credits are also unlocked 12) Change the screen brightness in setting will also affect the screenshots taken 13) Win over ninja to the lower-left area of Den of Behemoths to get "Accelerator" shard (now you can move more quickly) 14) Best money earning way should be the "Augment Gold" shard crafted from "Augment LCK" shard, you'll need "Gold" as well 15) "Hair Apparent V" should be non-existence 17) Just found out there're two hidden chests right below OD's library
