Hey all,
My opinion is that the game is not bad on the switch. I know there is a lot of complaining regarding the switch version. I waited a week to get the game in-part because of the complaints. However, after playing through the game, my opinion is that the game is not broken. It's a ton of fun!
The game has never crashed on me. The frame rate has never dipped to an unplayable state. I am on my fifth play through and still enjoying the game very, very much.
The only 'concern' I've come across that is valid, in my opinion, is that the switch version doesn't compare well to the other versions. Fine. That's both fair and true.
But I liken that to complaining about a DVD not 'comparing' well to a blue ray.
The switch isn't as powerful as those other platforms. Just like a DVD isn't as nice as a blue ray.
However I decide to watch a favorite movie, DVD or blue ray, I still enjoy the experience.
I'm very glad this game came out on switch. I'm not concerned about any forthcoming updates to optimize my experience.
I'm simply enjoying the ride that is bloodstained on Nintendo Switch. Thank you for reading my 'op-ed' and have a nice day.

I’m glad to hear this more in depth. I’ve read so many opinions that the game is broken and unplayable with about half as many saying the same as you but not elaborating. Does the switch need work to compete with other systems...Hell yeah, but it’s far from unplayable I am gathering. I can say fortunately that I am a PS4 player, but the comparison videos I’ve seen liken it to games that come out on 2 gen systems at the same time with the uptick in quality on next gen. Yes, switch is current gen as well and should be better, I get that. Just be glad this is an age where games can be updated after release, and said updates are in the works.

Depends on which area of the copy, only US version has updated patch to fix some bugs, in ASIA version, it is still v0.1, not able to download and update the game.

I sunk 4 hours into my Platinum’d PS4 version and after spending a couple of hours with my friend’s Switch versión I can confirm that the complaints about said version have been greatly exaggerated.
Yes, the downgrade is real, yes the loading times are longer, yes it only runs at 30 FPS, and yes there’s input lag but the game is still 100% playable. Every enemy, every weapon, every corner of the map, it’s all there.
People calling this port “trash” never suffered through real trash-tier ports like Sonic the Hedgehog and Mortal Kombat Advance on GBA, or Doom on the fucking 3DO. Now that was some trash!
Did I expect Bloodstained on Switch to run and look better without me being unrealistic? Hell yes. I never dreamed this game would be 1080p but I did want it to be better but this game is perfectly playable and still fun. My one big advice is if you own any of the other platforms you should never choose Switch first over the other ports but if Nintendo’s console is your only choice then by all means.

Is your play version publisher 505 or H2 interactive?
If it is 505, please shut up.
Many people's Switch versions are released by H2 interactive licensed by 505.
This version of 0.1 does not update the recommended version 1.1 update when the game is released.
Waiting for a long time, the damn patch still did not reach the region where the version was released.
The game experience of these people is not as "playable" as you said. Monsters, props and even maps are like you are saying, but you don't know when it will crash.
At the very least, the trash you said is stable at runtime.
And Bloodstained did not reach this minimum level of "stability".

Yes, it looks worse, has lower framerate and slowdown when a lot is going on (and two/three areas specifically). And area transition times are slow.
BUT, I at least could finish the game and it never once crashed on me. I had fun.
Despite this, I do still believe the game was released too early with too little testing on Switch. I can forgive most of the issues, but the slowdown and day-1 patch should never have been there in the first place. I worry about my physical edition not being playable after download servers going down.
Shame to hear the H2 release is in an even worse shape. But please refrain from telling people to shut up on a public forum just because it does not fit your opinion.

H2 interactive's lazy and careless attitude makes us feel discouraged by players who have purchased the 0.1 version of Bloodstained and cannot update it. I hope that other players who purchase the 505 release can express their own "playable" experience, but this group of people may not be able to "stablely" play like themselves. |

The version I'm playing is kind of enjoyable. The only thing I actually dislike is the input lag. A bit noticeable, but not as bad as say the Switch port of Mega Man X Legacy Collection (unless it was patched finally.
Never had crashing yet. The only glitch I had was the left joycon wasn't responding, but I think that it occurred because I hit the sleep button before returning to the Switch menu or something. I'm not sure if I experienced frame rate lag, but I'm sure the fight against a certain giant boss will make up for that.

As someone that has played PC, PS4 and Switch versions.
The switch version is BROKEN and unplayable. It can be played. Bust so can superman 64. Being playable in no way means its not broken and unfinished.
And no the complaints are not exaggerated the constant attempts to downplay how bad it is to justify a sunk cost fallacy is sad.

I own the pc and switch versions and my friend owns the xbone version. Having seen these the switch is easily the "worst" while the pc far far surpasses them both but by no means does this make the switch version an unplayable mess. It is a little janky and the graphics are not super fantastic but it is a fully payable game from start to finish and fun too. I have no sunk cost fallacy seeing as I backed a game to be made (which was done) and even got a switch game for free in addition to my pc copy. To some people these are unforgivable flaws but they really aren't that bad to me. In fact I've logged more time on the switch though that could be from load times lol.

I can imagine playing this game portable is great (though I have no intention to buy the console), and to those who are disappointed with Nintendo (I think it is Nintendo problem more than others), perhaps it's time to have face the truth and manage to get over it, life is like a bet, it's all about luck that matters (many people worked harder while rewarded less), let's hope for better luck tomorrow
