I'm hoping for an NX port, I want the convenience of the gamepad though and I have no idea if NX will support that.

It probably won't get ported to the NX until after release if it is successful enough and has enough demand for it to be ported over. Currently, we don't even really know what the NX is at this point in time. Recent patterns for Nintendo's system is to have backwards compatibility of their lastest console, so we may still be able to play it on the NX! It isn't guaranteed as of now though.
(I also hope they keep the Wii U gamepad as a functional thing for the new console. Still so many possibilities with it!)

I dont know if it we will be ported to the NX but maybe the Wii U is the best way to go because of the gamepad, we dont know if the NX will have it.

Yeah, I'm uncertain about that too. Backwards compatible features could make the transition easier though, I'm afraid this is one of those wait and see scenarios.

NX will have reverse compatibility just like the past two Nintendo systems before it. Chances are they will just toss the Wii U version in the NX eshop for people who don't own a physical copy. Being a veteran Nintendo fanboy I would wager on it. |

I've heard that the NX isn't replacing the Wii U. That would mean that Bloodstained for Wii U would still be on a supported system, just not the most recent system. I have a feeling that the NX will not be as powerful as the Wii U anyway. But, who knows at this point.

I've heard that the NX isn't replacing the Wii U. That would mean that Bloodstained for Wii U would still be on a supported system, just not the most recent system. I have a feeling that the NX will not be as powerful as the Wii U anyway. But, who knows at this point. It will be more powerful than Wii U most likely. It uses amd architecture vaguely similar to PS4 and XB1 also Square confirmed they are porting DQ11 to it which is a fully 3D unreal 4 game. |

Last I remember of anything being confirmed was after an investor speculated it was an android based phone based on technologies they were patenting, then they went and denied the claim.
If it's not a phone then it also stands to reason that Nintendo can and will invest in technologies that may be useful in the future which labels anything similar to the PS4/X-One merely a potential endeavor.

The console is 2 and a half almost 3 years in and it just recently hit 10 million units sold. I hate to say it but at this point in its lifespan the Wii was over 50 million units sold and PS4 and XB1 both passed it within a year of launch. While Wii U sales have picked up a little and there are still a decent amount of games coming but the system is fundamentally flawed from a market perspective. While it pains me to say it Nintendo needs to go back to the drawing board because the Wii U just isn't appealing to consumers. |

That puts it relatively close to the X-One.
Despite PS4 not having any real system sellers minus HD ports it's reached that point. Then despite the hits the Wii U had such as MK8 and Splatoon it's not doing as well in console sales. Regardless the games are what make the money.
Unfortunately it's company image. Nintendo had the image of a kid friendly company despite RE4 on GC and Bayonetta 2, and a lot of gamers don't jive with that. Wii hit it off with the older crowd which skyrocketed sales, but that didn't mean they escaped their company image.
I doubt a new console is simply going to erase that, and I doubt they think that either.

I love my Wii U and have always been a big Nintendo supporter so if NX ends up being their next home console I'm going to get it. Simple as that.
