So I just finished replaying FF6 on SNES emulator, which I've loved to death since I was a kid, but I just noticed something odd that I never noticed before.
It seems to me that, after you kill Kefka and escape the tower, when you're flying around while the credits roll there seems to be entirely too much green (grass and trees and stuff). I really don't think just killing Kefka is going to suddenly make grass and trees grow all over the place, and even when the airship hovers over a couple of the towns they mostly still look pretty barren. Am I the only one who ever noticed this? Any thoughts on this?
I not too long ago finished FF6 so I believe I can provide a good answer albeit a short one.
My thoughts are that it's all symbolic. The destruction of such a nihilistic antagonist after what the world literally went through with him, the party's separation and reunion, and pretty much all that led up to the killing blow to Kefka is a means towards a very well-deserved state of peace.
In a figurative sense, the soil has become more fertile, the skies have become less cloudy and don't appear foreboding, etc etc.
Redogan: ^^ Game looks pretty solid....for a mobile game. Maybe it will do well.

Ryngar Acia: ...or they've just been in a stupidity-induced coma for the past several years. Maybe they'll wake up someday? ;;

Yän: They already lost many of their best people. Even if they made some decent choices again, they'd never get back to their glory days

Ryngar Acia: It still seems like they a have fair amount of talented people, though. I dunno about returning the "glory days" but they could still be doing so much better, if the higher-ups would just pull their heads out of their butts.

purifyweirdshard: I think they'll do something decent again, eventually. The new mobile game might not be that thing, but the anniversary collection was a step in a good direction

purifyweirdshard: lol yeah I saw those ancient PC ports. I imagine they have little to no configuration for them and probably don't work with most controllers. It's also pretty weird to release CV/Contra like that when their anniversary collections exist

purifyweirdshard: The novelty for that PC collection to begin with was to have it on a PC CD, and all of these were waaaay before the era of Steam, so...yeah it just still seems like Konami trying to make easy money again

purifyweirdshard: hahaha MSX MG1 requires a 1.8 ghz processor and 2 gb of ram huh. Somebody out there has to upgrade to meet these 1990 specs

Busterific: As I recall, the PC ports for those were pretty bad. Makes me happy I have a working NES again.

hyugakojiro: Maybe Konami ought to create a Patreon account to speed things along with those ports and classic collections we're waiting for.
