Like, an achievement or something? A gameplay addition, an easter egg, something resulting from such a time-consuming action? I am tempted to max out everything, little by little, but with RNG in the picture, i am afraid it would take ages to do just that.
Also, does luck affect shard drops and if no, what does?

I was curious to know if we got a different ending after collecting everything, like a "turned evil" ending if all shards were fully upgraded. I heard there was only 2 endings, but maybe there's an undiscovered secret ending?
Has anyone tried beating the game after all shards were upgraded?

No clue... yet. I have nearly 9 of every shard and intend to max out all of them just as a test. I'll post something if the ending changes, but I don't think it will make a difference.

Nothing changes. Maxing out your shards is just for completionists. Yeah, according to the "strategy guide" luck affects shard drops too. You can also wear Solomon's Ring to boost your chances, and if you're on NG+ you can wear two. |

Seems to be only for completionist's sake, honestly. Is sort of strange that it didn't count alongside shard collection, toward the achievement, though.

It looks like for the attack shards, getting more shards will increase damage, and for the healing one, it will increase how much of your HP gets healed at once. I'm not sure how getting more shards of the same type will effect shards like the weapon expertise or how it effects Alchemic Bounty and Money is Power. I'm guessing it also effects quantity somehow, but it would be neat to see it confirmed how those passive shards are effected.

Maxed them all in my first run... 50 hours total, crafting everything, gathering everything, unlocking everything and maxing it all.
I found a point! Ranks are kept! Ranks are kept, even for shards you "lose" (progression skills) and later regain!
Glad i completed them in Normal! Soon, i will be in Nightmare! Having all Shards Maxed, is super cool! Can't wait! And another point; it makes getting those Medals, so much more easier!!! Soon, all Medals are going to be proudly sitting, in Miriam's inventory! Farming is super rewarding, in this game, after all!

I’m not entirely opposed to the nerf/buff, but I would prefer it to come across in an entirely new difficulty instead. Maybe something where they raise enemy HP drastically. Either way, I think I’ll eventually have nine playthroughs to get the boss shards leveled up too (just finished NG+ #4).. |

There are 3 endings There are kinda 4 endings... but the one I am talking about is very specific and not really worth it at the end where Dominique talks about getting the shards from Miriam if you don't sell Dominique ANY shards that line won't be there... very tiny but it is there... |
