A perspective or two from a switch owner

You back the game. Pick one of the following reasons.

1. Back because you want the passion project to be developed.
2. Back for the goodies.
3. Back because you just wanna play a damn good game
4. Back because you’re an intellectual and want all 3.


Now keep in mind that per the most recent update, the #2 people are already in the hole because of the printing processing, so they’ll basically have to wait anywhere from an extra 45 to a whole 60 days worth of time before actually getting their whole package for the game.

Now if you back strictly for #3 then cool, you’re probably gonna get it. But you’re also gonna get (if you’re strictly a physical backer) half of what the PC crowd will eventually get on their full physical copy. This means that the PC physical backers that also got a steam key or just purchased a digital game anyway will be the ONLY ones that have a definitive edition of the game. Yes I’m aware of the deadlines and logistics blah blah of the first party publishers like Nintendo and Sony etc. But that doesn’t change the fact that what’s happening is the biggest audience for this game is getting the game at a low frame rate and a week later. And since the game will inevitably sell well, the only on disc/cartridge copies of the entire promised game will be the PC physical backers and a definitive edition of little collectors value.

As someone who’s been a long time Nintendo supporter, one gripe I do have with their company is no matter what, if it’s a pretty popular game, they’re gonna jack the price way the fuck up to $59.99. They did that with an upscaled Hyrule Warriors game that was ported for the THIRD time.


You can tell me all the excuses you want about you’re not making a purchase at a store or whatever way you want to spin it. Fact of the matter is, 505 waited till the very last minute to drop loads of horrible specs and news when the head of PR PROMISED there would only be good news from February on and my hype for this game is totally destroyed. I’ll play it, but I’m definitely going into it with a tremendous bitter taste in my mouth.
