I've voted for the 'Someone Yet To Be Introduced' option.
I think it'd be refreshing if a new character was infused into the story as a loner, vigilante, rebel or loose cannon (male or female) who may be good or bad depending on how the story unfolds ... or even be an angelic person with a bad side or an evil person with a good side. Of course, this character would be skilled in some kind of powerful magic/sorcery and possess fighting skills that have, perhaps, been self-taught. In a nutshell, an unpredictable, mysterious soul .

I don't know who the extra characters will be but almost certainly because the boss revenge we will be able to play as Gebel so I'm happy.

I think somehow Gebel is going to be playable, maybe in a introduction like Ritcher in SotN but more extended. In the main game I think it could be someone yet to be introduced

personally... I would love to have a vampire or whip-wielding character as an homage to igas previous works... like... they wouldnt be part of the story... just an unlockable bonus like what igas metroidvanias would have.

I know this could just be me worrying too much...but I really hope that this new character to be revealed isn't Xbox-exclusive.
I doubt he will be. IGA & Inti-Creates wouldn't let that happen.
All the same, I'll be relieved to hear that this character will be playable on all console & portable versions, as well as PC.

actually with the new character announcement of Demon Hunter: European Samurai X and his glorious red coat, if hes playable maybe that covers the red spot, leaving the green spot to Johannes >P
and im betting he was revealed there first because that happened before the rest of the juicy info they have planned for was ready, all Iga basically said is "hey guys, cool to be here, theres crossplay courtesy of MS, and heres a cool pic and hes a demon hunter from 10 years ago with no name yet, im headed back to working on my game now kthxbye" so he probably has more info prepped for the update thats coming, maybe even put out a call for naming ideas ^_^

Sorry Guys took my vote back from Johannes..
The new guy is really cool and i hope to see him in the prequel and the main story, but also hope for a second female character after seeing that order of ecclesia vid of shanoa fom kitty in another thread, really hope for a witch like that^^
And Miriam to be a complete different and new Masterpiece-mechanical-system created by IGA^^
