The game was already announced for the Switch a long time ago and the trailer came out in other news outlets almost instantly after the Nintendo Direct ended, so yes, I fail to see why backers have a problem with that. Perhaps it's because their platforms got cancelled all so that the Switch version could end up be the focus? Everything about how this announcement was done and the previous announcement was vague, says "we're focusing on Switch, screw everyone else."
There's also the general issue of giving Nintendo priority over backers when it comes to announcements. 505 sure loves the hype train but boy oh boy, have they forgotten who laid the tracks for them.

I love seeing the analysis! We are so happy to know that the videos were well-received. I'll take the constructive criticism to the team as well. Regarding INVERT! Mana hopped onto Discord today and said a couple things about it. Mana: I think someone asked about the rapier having a secondary attack? Yes! Certain techniques can be unlocked. The one you see for rapier is: As you can see, it has a special series of button/keypresses to activate and costs a small amount of MP.

And the katanas/shoes in the beta have something similar, but the combo requires successive motions rather than just presses.
Also the rapier special is very reminiscent of me stabbing my umbrella in that Vine I made for the game's Vine submission thing lool.

Is this what you want? This is what you get when you do this.
All joking aside, the number of mechanics (shard collection, weapon and shard crafting, combos, character customization) all aim to be squeezing every ounce out of map content to make sure we have a damned good reason to go back and dig into an area.
From a design standpoint, making sure there's a compelling reason to come back to an area beyond it 'looking cool' (I'm looking at you, SotN Coliseum) and going to that one single place you couldn't get to before (which is also a thing from the looks of the LAZ0R teleportation room) is exactly what I was hoping to see from this project.
As far as the aesthetic, I like it. A smooth framerate across numerous media makes for some interesting limitations, but it's never been about the technicality of the game with 'Igavanias', but rather the 'look and feel' as was mentioned before.
If there's a deluxe edition pre-order, I'm plunking for it.
EDIT/ADDENDUM: Tell ArtPlay to make Alfred the main character or at least not a god-like, totally scrutable neckbeard. We all know everyone secretly wants this and it totally isn't just me. Totally.

Valefor doesn't look very good.... The CotM version looks absolutely superior in every way. The colors and textures are hideous. The "floating hands" style fit the boss way better than the "sleeves" or "arms" they added. The coins look horrible the way they clip all over, and they're definitely way too big. And the background doesn't even seem to fit the theme in any way like it did in CotM. I hope that it's just a different mode or something. The way the coins shine light from below giving it a moody creepy vibe is gone, so is the expressive cartoon face. In CotM he looks like an automaton made of gold and copper... he even has a jewler/watchmaker loupe over his eye... but the 3D version replaces it with some stupid red and white donut. The size difference is also a bit awkward... Why doesn't he fit inside his own room?! Not to mention everything has this unnatural plasticky sheen. Also I might need to rewatch but I think I saw quite a few glitches throughout the rest of the video as well... like... what is that brick looking stuff in front of the left door? Is that supposed to be there? I hope the gameplay is good at least... Completely disagree. Valefor looks awesome! I'm so looking foward to this game coming out so soon! The look of the castle has a good balance of color and shading to make things easy to see, yet indicative of a otherworldly atmosphere.

A question for everyone analysing this. Compared to the artwork of miriam thus far(Mana's cover included) and her in game sprite, is there a discrepancy? Does she look older in game than what the artwork presents?

I still think her jump animation could use a tilt forward motion if pushing forward and jumping but I realize it's probably too late to adjust animations. I think pretty much everything else looks MUCH better now.

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody has one and most of them stink. From everything we've seen Bloodstained has very low quality textures, unless they have 4k textures hidden for release, that's a fact, not opinion.
High quality textures = good Low quality textures = bad Bloodstained =
Textures alone don't make great looking game, it's combination of them, animations, lightning etc. I'm not saying Hollow knight is best looking metroidvania ever, but it does what it wants extremely well, that trailer is absolutely amazing, everything fits and nothing pops out. Bloodstained trailer is just giant "meh", the only way to improve the experience is to watch it on smallest screen possible, fullscreen on 1440 makes me want to kill myself. Here's cherry picked one

Edit: I dare you to find me something similar in that hollow knight trailer.
As someone who owns a 4K monitor, the youtube video really doesn't help at all with it being 1080p. In-game and in motion it's not THAT bad, although the textures are indeed in the lower quality side and that is unquestionable.
That said, the game really does look a lot better now if compared to how the graphics were on the beta demo. The lightning is improved, game is more colorful and more stylized (must be WayForward's influence, and I'm fine with that) and there is a lot more contrast. At this point I don't think much could be done about the textures so we'll have to live with that, and there's still some problems (like why in the hell almost everything is shining? This seems to be a lightning problem, probably a light source is positioned at the same point of the camera, which in turn would explain the weird miriam's shadow) but overall the game looks more adequate for a almost-final product and I'm kinda okay with out it turned out.
And at last we have a box art! I'm really impressed by Mana's work and how it fits the whole Bloodstained theme. Hyped to see how it will look on a physical box!

Not perfect but the game is looking MUCH better <3 I think a lot of people's worries would have be alleviated if they could have seen footage like this earlier. But all that matters in the end is that improvement comes and come it has. I will say though the the "backer portraits" and the "backer pets that were turned into demons" stick out like a sore thumb. I mean I guess there was no way to avoid it but I feel my suspension of disbelief is going to be shattered every time I run across them in the game. Also mad props to Mana ! The cover she drew is a knock out!

It should be noted concisely and linked that in total, there are actually "3" trailers. They each feature different things/weapons/areas. Japan's has a "Crissaegrim" (Valmanway) for example, NA's has a master librarian reference and Mysterious Man.
