Ok this is just to point out funny things about the "anime world" Anime rules: - Girls clothes are made of paper (while men's clothes are made of strong cloth)
I know a lot of you have seen this where guys are in an explosion and and maybe a cuff or a little patch of cloth gets ripped, but when a girl gets caught in a power blast her clothes get ripped up to the point where she is almost naked (mind you I'm not complaining, it's just funny)
- screaming out someones (usually the love interest's) name gives the main character power.
I doesn't matter if they are on the verge of death if a main character invokes this power they will be able to take on armies
anyone got other "rules" of anime (or manga)? |

A male lead in a harem is an idiot.
A female lead in a reverse harem is not ... or at least, not even half as often.
Which is why stuff like Ouran or 'Ouji to Majou to Himigimi to' appeals to me a lot more than ... basically anything on the 'regular' harem list.

For guys - The plainer you look, the more chicks you get.
I mean come on lets face it, all the protagonists from harem anime look the same, with the same general hair style.

Anime characters are sturdier than they look, even in the slice-of-life genre. A girl falls and impacts her head? They won't get a concussion or anything, they'll just stand up and laugh it off or something. If it's comedy, they will have DBZ levels of sturdiness, being able to tank a hit to the face from a baseball bat that launches them into the far distance.
If an anime mentions someone is an "ordinary high school student", they are most certainly not an "ordinary high school student".
Characters in a fantasy setting will usually never go to the bathroom or do anything resembling hygiene. Magic?
A harem protagonist will never touch any of the girls intentionally, to the point of absurdity. They also have a high chance of accidentally getting into raunchy situations with them. Rito Yuuki, I'm looking at you.
Norio Wakamoto is God.

More anime/manga rules: In shoujo anime/manga, the female and male protagonist will almost always hate each other in the beginning, and end up liking each other later. Yuu Watase have a knack on complicating character relationships. Rie Kugimiya is the ultimate Tsundere.

this is less of a rule and more of a question... why is it in romance anime/manga the guy is always mean to the girl? it's like they want girls to end up (or make them want to be) in abusive relationships.
is it just me?

Most male protagonists of harem comedy will always get a nosebleed when seeing anything sexual about the girls.
Also it seems to always be the guys fault when anything perverted happens and the only thing to do is to defy logic and strike main character with a godly strike which then only requires something like an ice pack to fix. What is the whole point of having hospitals in these series? Sometimes the main character just has to sleep to solve any of their problems.
Also the always required beach, hotsprings, or bath requirement for almost all romance comedy series.
