When using a trigger shard, the properties of your equipped weapon can carry over to it.
Occurrence Frequent.
Severity Low. Gameplay bug (or feature).
Reproducible Yes.
-Replicated with 'Stinger' rapier and the 'Straight Arrow' shard. 'Straight Arrow' carried "Poison" property. -Same occurred with 'Flame Whip' whip weapon. Attacks had fire attribute.

I wonder if this can be turned into a feature? Make certain attacks have fire/ice/poison/etc effects on them depending on equipped weapon?

I always thought of this as a feature. Maybe it needs to be communicated more clearly with some particle effect when using the shard, signifying intent.

If it is a bug, I have the feeling it should be turned into a feature. It would be a very cool interaction.
