After obtaining pretty much all weapons in the demo, aside for few ones (i think), i believe i'm ready to give some feedback about them. I'm going to try being "to the point". I will brefily coment about them in a generic way, focusing on their types, rather about them individually because that would take too much time and would defeat the purpose of making a "to the point" feedback.
here goes:
SWORDS (Short Sword, Long Sword, etc)
Pros: quick and easy to use. Balanced damage.
Cons: not much.
Suggestion / Comments: Swords are the bread and butter of any Igavania and Bloodstained is no exception. Nothing to add or suggest.
SHORT SWORDS (Knife, Kukri, etc)
Pros: quickest weapons in the game. Although their damage is low, you can quickly exceed almost anything if you hit fast.
Cons: low damage, but that can be easily compensated by their fast hits.
Suggestion / Comments: Short Swords seems a bit overpowered. Their damage could be toned down. Bloodstained enemies are overall a bit slow on attacking, so, it's easy to kill almost anything with them.
RAPIERS (Rapier, Épee, etc)
Pros: quite balanced, with a range that is minimally better than swords.
Cons: not much.
Suggestion / Comments: Swords and Rapiers are quite close one another. They must be a bit different, either by making lots of enemies weak to cutting (swords) and some other weak to stabbing (rapiers) or by increasing range and decreasing rapier's damage.
GREAT SWORDS (Claymore, Pelekus, etc)
Pros: highest damage of all non-ammo weapons. Can attack upwards at 180 degrees.
Cons: slowest of all weapons, abeit still good to use.
Suggestion: they must be slower. You can still attack with them in a quick manner and due to them having a very high damage potential, they can easily turn into "broken weapons".
KATANAS (Dull Blade, Nodachi, etc)
Pros: Higher damage potential than swords.
Cons: lower attack speed than swords. Can't attack enemies at the absolute ground.
Suggestion: Katanas and swords are close in everything (and have basically the same range) but Katans are more powerful and slower. I believe that is enough to keep them useful and not the same as swords. No suggestion.
SPEARS (Lance, Partisan, etc)
Pros: highest range for non-ammo weapons.
Cons: hard to say, probably damage.
Suggestion / Comments: it's hard to tell what their cons would be, snce the spears in the game are on a "end tier" in means of power. But i believe they need to be somewhat less powerful than Rapiers and Swords, to compensate for the higher range.
MACES (Mace, Morgenstern, etc)
Pros: higher range than Swords and Rapiers.
Cons: ?
Suggestion / Comments: Maces doesn't seem to have a single problem. They hit hard and have a higher range than other weapons. Again, maybe several enemies will be resistant to bashing damage or something, or else they can simply be the best "default choice" for a weapon to use.
BOOTS (Kung-fu Boots, Dark Boots, etc)
Pros: faster than swords. Increase your sliding damage.
Cons: weaker than swords.
Suggestion / Comments: Nothing. They are pretty balanced.
WHIPS (Whip, Thorn Whip, etc)
Pros: high range, can hit enemies at the lowest area of the ground. Can attack upwards at 45 degrees.
Cons: weird usage.
Suggestion / Comments: Whips are...odd. They have a "okay" damage, and their best thing is to hit enemies on the ground, but their momentun is weird. They have a long recovery time and take a while to land a hit. They aren't really low, they are hard to use. That con outweights the pros, so, they should hit harder or have some other ability.
GUNS (Musketoon, Blunderbuss, etc)
Pros: most powerful weapons in the game, if you use ammo.
Cons: weakest weapons in the game if you use infinite bullets. A bit slow recovery time. Can't hit enemies on the absolute ground.
Suggestion / Comments: Guns are a wonderful addition. They do have some annoying cons, but with the right ammo, they have a high potential to be completely broken weapons. Ammo MUST be scarce, really expensive and hard to craft, otherwise guns will heavily unbalance the game.
