I'm not a STEAM guy.
I booted the game, it played real slow once the intro ended and Miriam and Johannes were talking. The voice and mouths didn't match at all. In fact the mouths would open and stay that way most of a entire sentence. That lag was horrendous. The game lag when playing is bad too. It feels real sluggish.
I'm sure this is a demo + my PC issue. Is there a way to improve the speed natively that I can do?
I reduced my resolution and the performance improved a bit. But now I can't move the wooden box. I'm basically stuck. Whenever monsters are on screen the gameplay slows more.
I have a 4.4 GHz processor. I am sure my PC can play this.

I forget where the thread is but someone improved their performance by disabling / shutting off something to do with VR

Download a program like speccy or open the windows start menu and type "dxdiag" to get more information on your PC. Processor speed alone isn't enough to know if you can run the game or not. From what you described, you could be running on integrated graphics (or have a really old dedicated graphics card) which isn't good for playing newer games

I forget where the thread is but someone improved their performance by disabling / shutting off something to do with VR See, one of the reasons I dislike Steam is it's confusing. I don't see anything that has to do with VR. It's not starting in VR mode as far as I can tell.
I ran the DxDiag and it said there were no issues. From what I can tell it's not my PC.
The demo is unplayable for me. If the final game plays anything like this on my PS4, I will be incredibly disappointed.

The demo for me is unplayable. IT plays what I can only fathom to be 1/2 or 1/3rd as fast as it should be.
When speaking, I hear Dialogue and I watch Miriam's mouth open and if I'm lucky close once before she's done. And I am stuck at the stupid crate bug.
I'm not bothering with this demo anymore. I'll wait for the PS4.

I noted this a while ago, and the consensus seems to be it's based on various specs of one's machines. I have the same problem and have been grinding through the demo in slow motion. (The 2016 Demo was jerky, but not so slow as this). You already posted on this (http://bloodstainedfanforums.com/thread/3421/game-play-real-slow) and I have heard about the VR application problem that is part of Steam. I'm new to Steam, too, but it apparently downloads with that app, so some people said you have to turn it off or remove it. I'm still trying to see if anything can be done to improve performance. For better or worse, and I understand your frustration, this doesn't seem to be a bug so much as the demo was built for PCs that can handle the basics of where modern gaming is today. If I get a different result with a solution, I'll report on it, and I hope others will as well.

It's been mentioned in a few threads already and it comes down to specs. Slightly older, or PCs with single-core processors struggle to play this game. Try lowering the graphics resolution as low as possible. My desktop goes up to 1080, which it defaulted to, but when I lowered it to 720 it actually ran fine. My laptop, however, was defaulted to 720 with no other resolution options and wouldn't run it near full speed.

Yeah, so I just tested a few things. Steam VR is not downloaded or active, so it's not that. And I can't change-in game resolution from 720. So, case closed. It's just a computer problem, based on specs. I'm in the Garden of Silence now, though, so I should be almost done with this demo.

Think of it as a unique opportunity to be able to study the animation frames and see if they truly flow properly.

My PC is a quad core 4.4Ghz. 4GB of ram. I don't do PC gaming so using the built in video card. I reduced the resolution in game and it ran a little better, but still slow. Multiple resolutions still cause the box glitch.
I'm still not bothering any more. I'll wait until the PS4 copy is shipped (undoubtedly long after launch day as is Kickstarter tradition)
BTW, when selecting options in the resolution, pressing X on my controller (PS4 USB tied in) should select the option not change to the next option...

Integrated graphics may have a very hard time with this game, even after launch. Iirc, Unreal 4 engine isn't friendly to integrated.

Yeah integrated graphics is probably the biggest part of it. The processor may/may not be up to spec without us knowing exactly what it is and 4 GB ram is minimum with 8 recommended.
edit: I see this thread was made in the other forum as well, I'll be merging them.

I don't think the VR is a Steam option, but something the developers forgot to disable since the game's running on an engine with VR support. Though I've had no issues with VR being enabled, I'm sure if it was a enabled, you would know
As for dxdiag, what you need to do is look in the display tab to see what your graphics card is. For example, this is mine:
I have an NVidia GTX 770, it's 5 years old but Bloodstained runs perfectly fine for me at a constant 60fps. Since you said your game ran better at a lower resolution, it sounds like your graphics device is struggling to maintain a decent framerate for the game. Yes, PC gaming is complicated to get in to, but once you figure it all out and get the right hardware, you can have games look and run better than anything on a console.
Sounds like you just want to get into the game with minimal set-up though, so maybe a console would be best for you. Without a doubt it'll run perfectly fine on both PS4 and Xbox, I imagine at a smooth 60 fps

Don't know if this will help you but I played it on my Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and at first it was a slow horrible laggy mess.
Then I dropped the resolution and changed it to window version instead of full screen and it was a whole new game. Felt way better, ran much smoother, and controls felt like a real Igavania game.

I run the game on a surface pro 4. Everything is up to date. 8 Gb ram and Intel HD graphics 620. The game is laggy as hell. I thought it would be enough to run this game properly. Anyone got a solution? Well, how did you change the resolution?

My PC is under the minimum requirements, but it runs (at about half speed). I think it made me experience more bugs as well. I got the unmovable crate and many time Miriam would get frozen until she got hit by an enemy.

Yeah, from the sounds of it, the issue is less with the processor and more with the graphics card. There really isn't too much that can be done to reduce graphics on the demo except cut the resolution and force full screen.
1600x900 or 1280x720 should improve playability a bit.
The only other solution I can think of is to upgrade the graphics card, but this is HARDLY a solution unless it was already planned for a bevy of OTHER games. It's even less of a solution if you have a laptop where you can't actually upgrade the graphics card (especially if you don't have TB3 for an external housing).
