From what I have seen, there was already one or two contests on this forum so far, but I think that this should be a frequent activity. The contests can range to literally anything that can be turned into a competition. I would imagine they would be themed with more BROTN hype (despite the long wait ahead of us), the Castlevania series in general, or anything with the same gothic yet exciting environment that Igarachi and classic Castlevania developers strive (strove?) to create. Some ideas of my own are:
-Music creation challenges (using Synthesia, Mario Paint, etc.) whether it be remakes or original, inspired pieces -More artwork obviously -Competitive gaming videos like runs that limit the player (no holy water for example) and the fastest video wins -Anything else that the community can think of
We could just continue all of the achievements from the Kickstarter but have prizes. As for the prizes, we could have in-game ranks on the forum and the top 3 get to obtain a certain amount of experience. These are all just ideas and I hope people can think of more creative ways to advance a weekly competition on this forum.

Weekly seems kind of a bit too much for now, maybe some months before beta it would be alright but bi-weekly seems, at least for me, more reasonable.
ALSO FANFICTION CONTEST :3
It's Igarashi...

It'd be cool to have the contests again (I've never participated on the ones here...). We could showcase the winners work in a single archived thread, give someone a forum title + some other prize like a code to a Metroidvania game or something depending on what the contest was. I was actually thinking about this when participating in the ZeldaInformer contest. It's a good and fun way to keep the community active. I think weekly may be too much (and a bit rushed), but maybe once a month? Set a day to release the information/rules of that month's contest, and give a span of 2 weeks or however long the contest may take to finish, then a process of 5-ish days to run a poll (if it's a "creation" contest). Oh, we also don't know too much how the forums will change in the next few weeks. Would it be better to wait until after that's all settled down? Either way, I'm down to help out with anything if you all want to start it up again

Once the official staff becomes more involved we will know better what to expect concerning prizes and contests if they are even a possibility. Now that Inti and FanGamer are involved I am excited about the potential of prizes, especially because FanGamer has high quality physical stuff that I would love to own. Personally, I would like to see contests that encourage the existing fan base to give more exposure to the game. This would help the success of the game on launch day while rewarding the members who are already excited for it.
Some of the prizes done in the past were donated by members. The donation button (which I have removed) was used once to provide funding for a copy of SotN to someone who had not played it yet, and a PSN code was also donated before we had that button. Because Humble Bundle is so inexpensive I had been giving out codes for games from that because I could afford to and it was fun. Two of the games were igavania types.
During the campaign the official Twitter was giving out game codes. If a member wanted to do that, I don't think anyone would complain. Of course, giving away things also comes with the potential for people feeling left out if they don't win, or angry if they thought a contest was unfair.
