Possible Bug: Miriam's un, deux, trois kick Combo in the Air

As noted in the title, Miriam's kick combo can be started in the air. However, it cannot be started while she is still rising, only once she has reached the apex of her jump.
Originally, I thought it could only be done after hitting an enemy with an attack, but that is not the case.
I'm not sure if the bug is that she can only do it after peaking, or if she can do it in the air at all. I found it quite useful getting to the item at the upper right part of the Ship's map.
