No, it's not a pachinko machine but... it's a mobile game. Here's the linkIt's called 「悪魔城ドラキュラ Grimoire of Souls」 ( Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls). The closed beta test is currently available for iOS only. For now, the announced featuring characters are Genya Arikado & Alucard, Shanoa, Maria, Simon, Charlotte, Lucy. --- The thing is... judging from the screenshot above, it almost looks like it's using the engine from Dracula X Chronicles and just throw a bunch of characters into the mix, which is pretty lame. They also said the game supports network co-op up to 4 players... sorry I just can't imagine that happening to an action game on a mobile platform.

It's nice to see some old faces again, but a mobile game? :sob: My reaction as well. It's nice to see Konami hasn't COMPLETELY forgotten the vania series. But to see it turned into a mobile game, why?

Unbelievably stupid. The only decent thing about this train wreck are the character artworks.
Also, another positive thing is that I don't expect anything from Konami anymore so I won't ever feel disappointed. Also they make such sh*t games and basically nothing else at this point that it's so easy for me not to give them any money even by mistake.

Konami will not do anything else besides Pachinkos and Mobile games. Those things have a very low cost, and a very high profit. No reason to do otherwise. I loved the artwork. Also, Genya Arikado looks awesome. And the new character Lucy is beautiful A shame it is only a gold-digger ios game...

It's just that... well, this is hardly exciting at all. Like "good for you, Konami... but that's still not what we want."

The sad part is, fans and whales will help show them this is a profitable game, and there will be no reason for them to do a console game. I don't want to play with a touch screen. I don't want them to monetize my patience. Buying items that remove time restrictions for the main gameplay loop is almost surely going to be in.

I was actually almost pleasantly surprised. If it releases on Android and has controller support, and doesn't follow a free-to-play model, I'll consider getting it. I do think the in-game character and monster models look kind of bad, but I think I could get used to it.
I mean, of course a real Castlevania game would be preferable, but just because 99% of mobile games suck doesn't mean I'm 100% unwilling to believe this will be okay.

If it releases on Android and has controller support, and doesn't follow a free-to-play model You know, out of the three things you want, 0 of them are likely at this point. iOS does have platofrm exclusives. On average, iOS users spend more than android users, too.

oh look, its the rondo engine with a bunch of igas characters dumped in shamelessly apeing bloodstaineds look with por character swapping, dumped into a linear stage format... i feel sorry for the devs that were told to work on this cause theyre gonna get so much hate, theres so much more they could do with castlevania and theyre stuck making this

I was actually almost pleasantly surprised. If it releases on Android and has controller support, and doesn't follow a free-to-play model, I'll consider getting it. I do think the in-game character and monster models look kind of bad, but I think I could get used to it. I mean, of course a real Castlevania game would be preferable, but just because 99% of mobile games suck doesn't mean I'm 100% unwilling to believe this will be okay. It's definitely free to play. There's a stamina counter and two currency meters. It looks to work just like Contra Returns. Comparison of resources thanks to theplottwist: I play and enjoy some F2P games. I've also seen where a platformer game has (apparently) successfully been ported to mobile, with the recent Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth port from PSP to mobile and it does have controller support. That game controls similarly to a Castlevania. It's also a single purchase game though. It may not be outright awful, but it's definitely not our first, second or fifth choice of what we want. I do think that old He-Man style Simon may be an indication this could come to the west, because that design is much more popular here afaik. And speaking of, is that someone imitating Kojima's style or her work itself?

Really? A mobile game? I'd rather it was a low budget PC game. Atleast we could have proper controller support and potential mods to expand the longevity of this.

in my personal opinion the game is not that bad and it uses the same type of merchandise that other 1000 games use nowdays. for what i've seen so far the models look decent, the gameplay isnt that complex and the AI is actually challenging (then again this could be used as a way to make players buy boosts or power ups) its not as greedy as MGS and they will be adding more characters over time like they did with HoD.
the bad stuff: well, its Konami... thats a huge risk on its own, the game is supposed to be a gothic style but many of the HUD and displays/pop ups whatever you want to call them look terribly odd for a gothic game. the stages aren't that long and currently there aren't many things worth of your time or replayability.
if it comes to the west i might end up playing it not going to lie but they wont get a penny from me. it looks fun for something casual but nothing to interesting to go full hardcore like FF Brave Exvius.

I don't think anyone here has mentioned it (aside from Elfina), but the game is also extremely Multiplayer-focused. It has two modes: 4-Player Co-op vs Bosses, and 4 vs 4 PvP. A few glimpses of the interfaces also show that you can have ready two characters as a loadout that can be switched mid-gameplay. What I mean by that, you can create any combination of two characters, amd switch between them, sorta like in Portrait of Ruin. The revival mechanic is also sorta taken from Harmony of Despair, where your allies become playable skeletons until you get near them. Finally, what I keep hearing in many sources: The game's focus, aside from being Multiplayer-focused, might have what seems to be a "MOBA" approach, and that probably relates to the PvP mode.
As much as I hate many mobile practices, I... am on my last legs here. I need to see what else this game will bring. But, I am ready to get shot in the face here. My last hope is that this doesn't go the gacha way, unless said gacha is purely cosmetics. But obviously, I should know better...
