Well, I had planned on soaking in the tub while reading volume 9 of Vampire Hunter D, but crocodile showed me this series and I can't pull myself away from it. I never knew the fairy familiar would pull out a hammer and smack Alucard if he gets turned to stone.

I never knew the fairy familiar would pull out a hammer and smack Alucard if he gets turned to stone. It needs a certain item, though, which is consumed. I don't remember the exact specifics, but that fairy must be able to cure Alucard, from more status problems. It's been a really long time, damn!

Fairy (blue one) or Half-fairy (green one) would both use the hammer item IIRC. I still love how half-fairy sits on Alucard when you stand still for a while (fairy never does that), then being surprised by the sudden action of the player. That's very cute. And I love Nocturne to death, sadly they have to cut the lyric card item out on PS version.

I just want to say I finished this the other night and it was a fantastic series. Even as someone who has played SOTN multiple times I still learned a lot from this series. Takes a while to get through but worth the time if you have it.

An outstanding documentary series for a great game. The most rigorous and in depth videogame analysis I've ever seen on Youtube. If you've never played Castlevania: SotN I envy you!

I've finished SotN a hundred times and still I didn't know that the room past the Armor Lord in the Outer Wall had a secret teleport to get the Jewel Knuckles and Mirror Cuirass early. I swear to god the amount of details and secrets in this game is almost unparalleled even after all these years. I also didn't know that you could obtain items from juggling the Master Librarian aside from the health up, I'm speechless

I swear to god the amount of details and secrets in this game is almost unparalleled even after all these years. I also didn't know that you could obtain items from juggling the Master Librarian aside from the health up, I'm speechless There is a bunch more tricks. Like the hidden sword that by swinging it, skeletons are summoned (to fight for you). I forgot its name, alas... That is what places like Castlevania Dungeon, are for... Listing all secrets, hints & tips, cheats, hidden areas, etc. Also, there is a bunch of names to start your profile as, that each one of them has some effect, from Luck mode, to starting in Axelord armor, etc. I was more mind-blown, when i saw how to use sword familiar, to explore areas outside map and raise the % percentage of game completion! Or the wolf "fast swim mode"... Or the "keep your Alucard items" glitch (this removes Death's registration from boss chart in librarian menu of "time you met boss", though)... And you can use the spyglass to see boatman from afar, or even confess your sins in the chapel! There is a ton of hidden stuff!

freddythemonkey try to avoid any kind of tutorial on the web. Today gamers check and notice these easter eggs and secrets way ahead, and spoil it for themselves. Heck even some achievements (which seems to be important these days) spoil things in their titles. Its disturbing and stupid, but thats the way it is. I haven't come across any new secrets as of late about SotN. I do not think so.

Enkeria I never watch playthroughs or tutorials for a game I intend to play so I'm covered yeah it's a pretty nasty habit to spoil everything on the internet about new games. I had a similar problems with Nier Automata and the new God of War but thankfully since I got the video blocker for YouTube I manage to avoid all spoilers unless I'm being really dumb about it (which did happen sometimes... duh) @ikai yeah I knew those, but the one I mentioned I honestly had no idea haha glitches and speedrunning techniques are impressive too, but I'm not that much into it so I'm more amazed for well hidden secret in the "base game" so to speak, this series is awesome either way because it does list pretty much everything, even glitches and such.

I completed the series and I have to say it really is an enormous labor of love. The creator would deserve way more views and recognition.
