I absolutely ADORE double posting. Today I just had to. Today I went to a new Japanese place that was local. According to yelp it was good.(I know I know, grain of salt and everything) First I had this. They called it Cajun Tuna Sashimi. Yes, you read that right.  In short, it was delicious. However, I also had their ramen. In short, it was pretty bad. However, what surprised me was that the owner came to me on a whim to ask how I was doing. She managed to get the truth out of me. Told me that they only just started serving ramen. She somehow knew I was getting better ramen pretty far south of where I live. Not only that, she said that she wants to take feedback and research on how to make better ramen. If I were more of a ramen aficionado, I would have given her some pointers. My experience is limited though. In short, it was great little place. The people there were really nice and it was cozy. It also served as the first time I was really honest with a restaurant and that they took the time to listen to me. Then right after, I found myself joining a gym. Yes, that's right. Not 5 minutes after dinner, I go across the street with the intention of scoping out a gym for the future. Find myself joining then and there. I start tomorrow. *sigh* I'm going to die. I'm hilariously out of shape, which is partially why I went to the doctor. Ok, I don't think I'm that bad, if anything I would say I'm in the middle. I wanted to see if it was feasible for me to do this and no diseases or whatever were holding me back. There aren't, so gah. Here goes nothing... |

After 2 months. :/ I survived my first day at the gym! Here is my first day at the gym in a nutshell: "I started with a personal trainer. 3 things. 1. I forgot my towel. 2. I forgot my own water. 3. I realized I never set any goals with this. 4. Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah it burns!!! We talked, I decided on a year goal. I want to lose 40 lbs by this time next year. I don't know if this is high or low or something, but I am shooting for that. We worked on arms and core. I lifted a weightless bar 100 times with breaks in between. Then after, it was a bunch of core stuff. Fast ups/slow downs, crunches, those "Russian twists", and balance. Holy crap, balance. I have NO BALANCE. Also, did I mention it burns? I only get a personal trainer with my plan for about 3 hours and then after that it's a LOT extra if I ask for it. One more thing, after we were done, he recommended BCAAs. I have no idea what those are, but I want to at least try them. That's it guys and girls. Wish me luck. :S " Yeah...good day in my book. |

Second day at the gym yesterday. It hurt even more so. It was more cardio and core. My heart and breathing were off the charts. Had to work to calm it down. I stretched first this time, so I was more stable. I even brought water and my towel. The water was gone by the end of everything. I got the amino acid powder, but later while at work this morning I found it for half the price. I was mad, but now I know better. I can find it for cheaper and that's cool. Later today I went to a streetpass event where we played the latest Mario Tennis game in a tournament. Despite me....history with Mario Tennis(and tennis in general), I had fun. I got past the qualifiers and was a force to be reckoned with. My partner in doubles...was not. We tried, but we got bodied hard. At least we won the qualifiers. Afterward, my friend took me for a late birthday dinner. An actual birthday dinner unlike my other friend. We went to sushi and holy crap we were in over our heads with this all you can eat place. I didn't eat all that much, despite being hungry most of the day. Brought home the leftover to the folks.(Lucky the waiter let us bring leftovers.) |

Gave the cops a description but he was mostly covered. He probably didn't leave any solid prints, but a bullet was found that hopefully can lead somewhere though I doubt it. Our store has plenty of cameras around that got multiple views of what happened. It all happened really quickly and I couldn't recollect a lot of small details. It took me quite a few hours to realize why my hand was hurting so much and when he hit my hand.
I doubt they'll catch him, but I hope they do. I literally had less than 2 weeks to work there as I'm moving soon to Ohio. Not really sure if I want to go back or not really...

I can't imagine going through that. Many people like to say/think that they have a plan/know what to do when something like that goes down, but I don't think much can prepare you for it. I'm glad it wasn't worse, like Mike.

Hope everything gets better for you from here on out thrashinuva.
As for my day, it started out pretty good. I trimmed my facial hair to something more reasonable since I thought it was beginning to look bad, deposited a paycheck, and went to my favorite ramen place because they were serving turkey ramen as part of a Thanksgiving special.
Then something beyond my control happened and made everything end on a sour note. I'd rather not go into detail about it yet since it's still being dealt with, but at the same time it's nothing life-threatening.

I'm pretty much alright now. I went back to work and had a couple scares, I'll have to gradually get used to it, for as long as I'll be working there anyways, which won't be too long. I took the bandage off my ear and just a part of it was sliced through. It should heal alright, but I'm told it'll probably leave a scar. It still throbs a bit especially at work, but I mostly don't feel it unless something is touching it.

Well, the thing I mentioned yesterday got resolved.
Long story short: After I finished eating, I had car trouble. Today, the car got fixed. It didn't cost any money and it is fine now.

Glad you are doing better Nuva. Today was leg day at the gym and my final work out with the personal trainer. It was tough, but fun. I also have a penchant for humor, so the final piece of the work out was me dancing a bit. Which caused the both of us to crack up like crazy. |
