Your Day

Work is more psychological than physical this time around. When I was a carrier, trying to get a system down, walking, driving, and pushing myself were what I needed to do. For this one, I have to work on the psychology of not sleeping at night. I'm starting to get it, but this week was the hardest on me. Not even energy drinks were working. I still managed to make it, but my schedule needs a rework.

Other than that, I started listening to the radio and the classics I grew up on were blasting. Like this one.

Those "didn't get the e-mail" situations are often kind of dubious. I hear people ask "did you get my e-mail?" quite often when the reality of things is, either they didn't send it or you didn't read it lol. There's little question of "getting" it if the address was typed correctly, and if it wasn't, the mailer daemon will let you know (wouldn't that be a funny Castlevania enemy?). It's not like the postal service, they don't get "lost" unless there's the rare occasion it goes into your spam folder, which...I don't think happens so much anymore.

My day...is like the rest of my days. I did get back from Orlando on Monday though, went to CEOtaku, a fighting game tournament for the more anime side of them. It was pretty cool. I entered too many games again, probably should focus on 2-3 instead of 5-6. Otherwise, work as usual, exercise, Metal Gear, etc.

LOL, nice. My day today, is ok. I should probably get some sleep to prepare for tonight. I watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1973) this morning. One of the most messed up films I've seen in a while.

Still alive and kicking, just some things going on, lately.....hope everyone else is keeping sane(relatively) and safe.

Long day at work. Found out that the people short changing me still have not paid me. Nothing interesting until I knocked out(I am working graveyard), and woke up at around 420ish. I remembered that I had to make some doctor's appointments. Some were closed of course, one was trying to make an appointment 3-4 weeks from now, and one was telling me to come in...to give them my insurance to maybe work something out as they put it.

Barring what happened today, since ultimately it didn't matter because it was my fault, I think I remember part of the reason why it's been such a long time since I've been to the doctor. I may not be the most social person on the planet, but I do like interacting with people at the very least on some level. However, quite a few doctors(and especially most nurses) in general infuriate me. I don't know if it's their attitude when they talk to me or how they somehow seem to waste my time and money in the end, I find myself thinking I shouldn't have bothered. Maybe it's just me. I'm well aware of the importance of doctors and WHY some might act this way, but I'm starting to lose the patience to put up with it.

Heck last time I remember attempting to go, it was a campus doctor. I was limping since my leg kind of ached. I made the appointment two days from the time I made it. I limped to the office, but since I was one minute late, the lady at the front desk didn't take me. I was slightly upset, but I understood. The lady tried to make an appointment for me 2 months from that day. I said "no thank you" , tried to leave and this lady starts yelling at me. "YOU ARE GOING TO STAY HERE AND MAKE THIS APPOINTMENT!" I was baffled they would even have the gall to do that, but whole reason my leg hurt at all was because I landed on my feet wrong. It wasn't serious, and it definitely wasn't serious enough to put up with that lady. I left anyway without responding to anything they said. The leg was fine the day after the next day.

I'm going to try again in the morning. Make the calls and such. I hope I don't have anymore nightmarish doctor encounters, especially not now after so long of going to one. I'm a patient dude(no pun intended), but leaving the doctor's office mad is the last thing I want to do.

I watched Jaws this morning and I made doctor a doctor's appointment for next week and a dentist appointment for that same week. Sweet!

I might go get some ramen. It's been ages since I got any.

Well, I just survived my first day with my new meds. I'm not going to go into detail about them because I'd rather keep the details private, but it's a big milestone for me. It started with a conversation about what I thought was just wrinkled skin on my forehead actually being a scar from when I hit my head as a kid, went to some doctors to investigate if it had any impact on my behavior as an adult, one thing led to another, and a significant amount of time later I now have a better idea of why I am the way I am and how to take action about it.

Hopefully, it'll be easier for me to deal with life/people/groups in general now. I don't want to end up being like certain people who are supposed to take meds, but don't for some reason and end up causing things to get worse. The whole experience of visiting various doctors also brought me closer to my adult family, helped them clear up various misconceptions they had, and I'm viewing this as an opportunity for change.

My adult family members and I also did something that would've been unthinkable when I was a kid: horror-comedy for family movie night! I suggested "What We Do In The Shadows" after seeing Red Letter Media talk about it, my sister wanted to see it after finding out Jemaine Clement was in it, my dad watched a trailer for about 30 seconds then turned it off after deciding he was interested and didn't want to have too much given away, and Mom was indifferent because she didn't like horror. Everyone ended up enjoying the movie anyway. Nice little way of celebrating Halloween.

As for my personal experience with the movie, I liked it, but thought it was kinda hard to follow. Still trying to find out why since I'm normally attentive during movies. I thought it might be because of the movie's audio mixing made it hard to hear and understand some characters, maybe it's just the overall style of the movie and it's supposed to be slow and hard to follow in order to encourage multiple viewings, or maybe it's because I'm still adjusting to my meds (my heart was racing and my body was tingling all day. It felt distracting. I'm not sure if those were normal things I'm still getting used to, or a sign that I should try a different version of my meds). Still, I liked watching the vampires do funny vampire things. I'd love to re-watch the it in the future.

Also, getting mentioned and quoted on the Bloodstained Kickstarter update was pretty cool. I don't know how to handle eternal infamy like that.

Working a full day today, have to leave for a conference to FL this coming week, so I'm using this an as extra day since I won't be paid next friday when I depart on my flight.
