The method of "slacker backing" used for this project allows anyone to back the game up to a maximum one time payment of $500, while allowing extra "add-ons". These extra add-ons are basically double/triple/etc dipping on your pledge, granting more copies of each priced tier, and therefore letting you pay more than the maximum of one single pledge. That is very generous of them. And very admirable of you to go very far to double dip with the opportunity given to all of us! Provided, of course, if some of you do it just to support the team, while having the bought copies kept for yourself to collect, and/or as gifts for friends and family. I am sure others others, however, might just be getting the extra copies for resale. An investment for extra profit, banking on it for those that do not make the final deadline. Those of you that plan on it are called "scalpers".
I... do not know the means to stop that. None probably do. Scalping has been a thing that's hard to legally fight. People who just wait too late to pledge will be looking for means to get a slice of the cake being baked here. As well as a part of what was exclusive for us backers of the first two months (the priced tiers that went over $500 during the campaign). But this is why you must try to work for it now, so that you can at least get a bit of what is still available now (from the day of this post), while avoiding paying way above your paygrade to get it in a shady website or dark alley shop. just to get extorted. Grey markets are also very dangerous, too.
You may say that they can do whatever they want with their purchases, because they already supported the devs with their wallets. That isn't a good reason, really. If they were to pay the same or less of what you paid for each add-on pledge, sure. But selling it at a higher price is not helping the developers, or the buyers. That's helping yourself, scalper! So, yeah. I am just posting this as just a passing concern on the subject. Maybe none of you who browse here won't do any of this. Maybe I am just rambling. Anyways, that's all I want to say on the matter. I hope you guys have a good time when you're finally able to play this promising title! Whether you backed this game or not. Even buying it on retail is backing the devs. Think about that. Food for thoughts.
Well, I ask here: "What can we do to fight against such dealings?"
