Hello, I'm a 39 years old Castlevania fan. I love this game and I have completed all GBA, NDS, PSP and 3DS versions of Castlevanias. I have also played the alpha demo of the Bloodstained. It seems great and I'm sure it will become better. I have a suggestion. Please hear it. It would be great if Bloodstained development team plays the DEAD CELLS from Motion Twin. Dead Cells already borrowed many Castlevania elements and I know the Bloodstained development team doesn't need any tips from another game. However, there is a reason why I suggest this action. And no, watching youtube videos doesn't count. You wouldn't feel it. If you play Dead Cells with a controller. You will see that the game has a very fluid and responsive controls. Also gameplay is very satisfying. You can sense that each blow counts and effective. Jumping, rolling, attacking and blocking... all feels right and satisfying. Even, taking damage feels good I have nothing to suggest about art direction of Bloodstained as I'm sure that, it will be mind blowing at the end. All I wanted to suggest is playing Dead Cells with a controller and see what I felt abput that game game mechanics. Thank you. edit:I'm not suggesting brutal difficulty and Dark Souls like elements.

Welcome to the forums! =] This topic is somewhat related, however it is more focused on combat. bloodstainedfanforums.com/thread/2795/feedback-attacking-killing-enemies-satisfyingI personally really enjoy Dead Cells and have recommended it to allot of people, however I feel like DC is a totally different genre than BS. For one, DC is more like an action game. Something like a 2d DMC. No real RPG system, just upgrades to health, attack, etc. Also DC is more tuned for aggressive gameplay, what with the roguelike elements. Risk/reward kinda stuff, everything is lethal in DC. Similar to Dark Souls. BS/Igavanias on the other hand I feel is more like a slower paced sidescrolling action rpg. It isn't necessarily about playing aggressively, more about tactically (to a degree). Until you are overleveled, of course, and can tank pretty much anything in the game. The 'tactical' aspect comes in the form of analyzing your abilities and the enemy stats/weaknesses. Like what level are you currently? Is that good enough to overcome a certain enemy? Do you have the right tools for the job? IE, do you have a weapon/skill that the enemy is weak against? etc. Apart from the movement being completely different, (DC being allot faster paced, dodges with iframes etc.) i think what DC is doing well is SFX. To make things 'feel good' is more than just controls. I covered some of this in a post I made in the topic I linked as well.

You sound like me here lol, this is essentially exactly what I was saying. I was thinking of games like this when I wrote that up. So...full disclosure, I haven't played Dead Cells, just watched the launch trailer, though it looks like I wasn't too far off. It looks awesome and I think I'd like it, but I still do consider it a pretty different thing from Iga's games. Welcome stonegolem. And you might be surprised by how old most of us are here haha. We are after all on a "ye olde forum".

That feedback topic is filled with lots of great ideas. I'm very happy to see this kind of discussion related to Bloodstained.
