For indie KS projects, the constant updates after the campaign has ended are great. The main purpose is to ensure backers that they're actually working on the project. But in case like ROTN it's different. We all somewhat trusted Iga and his team that they'll deliver. I think most of us can handle some release delays too as it's so common in game development. *** Note *** This poll is about your tastes alone, no other issue involved. I just kinda curious to know if I'm weird or not. (I voted the 'know nothing until closer to release') You remember the feeling when you watch something like this for the first time, right? : Without ever seeing any artwork, development progress, or anything about the game before. Man, that's a great feeling I'd want to relive from Iga again.

Yeah, I might be in the minority in some ways on this too, but for games I'm really looking forward to and know they're going to be good (i.e. I don't need to be sold on it), I basically dodge any news at all about it so I can experience the game fully when it comes out. I did that with Bloodborne; aside from the inital trailer and screenshots, I knew nothing about that game going into it. So many other people go as far as watching youtube playthroughs or reading guides before even playing things, but for me, enjoying games is all about taking everything in as I feel it is meant to be presented...all at once, after I sit down and turn it on.
Something like Bloodstained might be a little different...I feel like I'm kind of part of it, so I want to have input here and there and see how things are going. I imagine I'll consume whatever they put out in updates, but hopefully there is indeed a lot we won't see. I was considering dodging the beta for this reason, too. We'll just see how it goes. If I have to stick my head in the sand, I will lol

I think, more than updates about the game itself, I want updates about the team... Is that odd? Rather than know about the game development monthly, I would rather have members of the staff drop in every other day to mingle with us backers, who I feel are in some ways part of the team as well. They don't necessarily have to talk about what they are working on, just show us that they are still alive and active; it could be to talk about how smooth whatever it is they're doing is going, how difficult the work can be, how their beloved boss is somehow standing behind their backs with his arms crossed or even what they had for breakfast. I also hope we can somehow give them help this way. I feel that this kind of close relationship between staff and fans is what will make these next two years easier to bear. Ben Judd, in the KS comments section, has been popping in and out and has shown what his short appearances can do to the community, for exemple. It wasn't always about the game itself, but I sure am glad he's taking the time to make us know there is someone on the other side.

I'd love to see someone inside the team popping in fan forum. Not necessary to talk about the game though, you know, just like us, hanging around the off topic board during the lunch time would be sweet enough.

The whole point of the kickstarter is to have the fans closely involved with the production. Offer opinions, suggestions, etc.... We put out money into their vision before a game is even made so it's the working together that is the perk. So, I'd definitely like to see some gameplay, at least show off one of the areas and some of the animation and shaders. To get an idea of what they're aiming for.

Doesn't have to be big. Even if it's only a "Hey guys, we are working on some cool weapons right now, we are done about 3% of the castle map. This week we want to finish a secret boss. I just heard my new favourite track of the game. See you all next month!"
Lack of specifics is fine, but hearing the HYPE! (I'm looking at you Thomas Horwath!) is always encouraging.

I'm also going to Echo "Yay" to the monthly updates but don't show me too much. Trailers, PR media, screenshots, etc have been guilty of spoiling everything before a game is released. -_-

Maybe even just a progress bar with a % filling up. Of course it won't be accurate, but a general idea would be cool. That way they wouldn't spoil any bosses or areas.

I will be beta testing so the team will have another person looking for any glitches or even really neat tricks (i know it wasnt intended, but the wolf superjump, ubershield, crissaegrim and shield dashing are part of SotN, and i think they are great tricks, if the team feels they overpower things or allow for sequence breaking, it is their choice whether to keep or remove, and our choice whether or not to use them if they keep them, options are after all the hallmark of the genre ^_^) , but i do want 0 story, they could set things up like a boss rush where youre running a gauntlet of rooms testing enemy patterns with placeholder graphics, room transitions, or fighting with different armor/ability/weapons that all have placeholder text and graphics
