Hey it's possible. PC modders can make any character playable in practically any game and game mode.
so Bloodstained could have a feature that is like a free mode that allows Boss Revenge characters playable in the campaign, well at least characters like Bloodless that wouldn't have trouble with door/entrance sizes, and capable of jumping (and could be given a super jump and air super jump in free mode so could technically access the entire castle without power ups.
maybe it could be an unofficial mode that's not really a mode, but a cheat or setting that allows Boss Revenge playable characters in the base game as well. that would be quite interesting for extra entertaining gameplay possibilities.

That'll have to be either a Patch update or DLC for a later time. Anything beyond 3 playable characters in Story is not part of the stretch goals.
I like your idea of a Cheat Code enabling Boss Revenge characters in Story, though.

That's harder than it seems to do, specially if you consider what kind of hard locks (areas where you need abilities or items to progress) they intend to create.
If you create areas where you can only traverse by being really small and give Miriam a Shard where she can turn into a small mouse, for instance, you would have to design something else for all bosses from revenge mode to cross the same area. I use that as an example because something close to that happened in Portrait of Ruin. They decided to put several playable characters and used...odd options to make them all capable of exploring the whole castle. The game has narrow areas where you need to transform into a frog to go through them. With other characters, their sprites are, somehow, "smaller" than what they look, and they can go through walls to enter in these areas, although they visually have the same size as the other characters. It was a really odd and weird thing to do.
So, if you want to add all playable bosses from Boss Revenge to the main game, you would need to create solutions to ALL kinds of progression locks that the game will have, such as infinite jumps, slides and a lot of really weird and/or odd things to give them means to explore the whole game.
It would be weird. I would like that, but i belive it doesn't worth the effort. Unless, maybe, a paid DLC.

That seriously dependa on the boss, and what movements they even have...It's likely not feasible without making a completely new character altogether.

Hehe. Running around as Bloodless that can't double jump, to never reach beyond level 1-2 or something hehe.
And having Vepar go through the Galleon Minerva.
Yeah, it could be hilarious hehe.
Unofficial mods will be a thing, but mostly to change or add stuff like weapons and costumes.
The very reason I wanted an official mode with mods - that are approved by ArtPlay or any other company that would handle it, making it download able through the game menu.
Running around as bosses in the main game would also make the game become too glitchy. I could only imagine too how tedious it will become playing a boss with no way to protect them and only have 3 skills / weapons etc and no way to go pass areas without talking to NPC, double jump (maybe run and fly too?)
If you want boss mods that can handle this, by the time it is out we might already play Bloodstained 2, which might have official mods if this first one does not.
