i think an enemy similar to arachne but with a scorpion body would be really cool, and itd be a non spidery arachnid for once *shudders* yes i know the stingers backwards, but awesome pic and there were almost no scorpion enemies in castlevania so itd be a nice addition ^_^

Im sure they can come up with a super original never seen before badass looking Skeleton which will amazes us with its impressive set of skills that will be better than Batman's. If they do one so cool like this one it should be enough, I think red skeletons should be replaced with stained glass skeletons that comeback together after shattering... or every time it shatters it could get smaller and smaller lol Something like this at 26:00 isn'r exactly what you described, but you reminded me about: More about this kind of enemy in CV can be found here. Speaking of centipedes, interesting fact that nobody likely cares about. But Centipedes are actually fairly venomous, but oftentimes games don't associate centipedes with poison. Scorpions on the otherhand, are often extremely poisonous in games, when in fact, their poison is one of the mildest of all venomous creatures! Centipedes can inflict incredibly painful bites, even without the venom in consideration. I've been bitten by one in real-life before...and it really hurt for days. With that in mind, the "Giant Centipede" enemy's powerful jaws could inflict more serious damage to Miriam than even if she gets poisoned by it. (Perhaps the pain of the blow could stun her for a short time) What about a human centipede? j/k
At the same video, at 40:08 you can see a concept that I would like to see in Bloodstained. Instead of a common Doppelganger it would be more interesting to see one that is spawn from a mirror. m thinking about a area called "Mirror Maze" or something like that, it would act like AoS floating gardens where it tries to confuse you. There you would find a lot of possessed dolls, marionettes and manequins wearing Miriam's outfit and wig from when he was younger, like Gebel remember her. This would be one of the last areas and so this Doppelganger made of glass would be strong. I would like to see a trick like in 48:15 too, this really mess with your head. edit: forgot to mention Flame Knights from 53:23.

All these suggestions are cool so far, though I see no one has suggested any kind of golem or something that looks like a beholder. Here's an idea for an enemy: Former Hunters and Slayers. Those who fall victim to crystallization trying to rid the world of the manor and become something they hate or regret. Another Idea is crystallized versions of the guild he destroyed that summoned him in the form a deformed beasts. It would be representing the ugliness and danger inside of man yet, how glamorous they look due to being made of Crystal.

An eyeball. Nothing crazy fancy, just.....a friggin' eyeball. No matter what the game or work of fiction, eyeballs or eyeball based monsters always have and always will creep me the fuck out man. Cacodemons from doom, dogether in castlevania rondo of blood and portrait of ruin, that crazy lookin' thing from baldur's gate Mr. I in super mario 64....man these keep me up at night, lmao. Kirby games have plenty of eyeball enemies too. As for Castlevania, "Peeping Eyes" are definitely well-known. Here's a creature I drawed from the dark forest of my mind a couple of weeks ago. It's kinda based on the Peeping Eye/Dogether monsters but I felt the need to add a more horrific, demonic appearance along with tentacles and weapons. I envisage this monster as a massive boss of a wasteland that'd stand like the equivalent of around 40ft tall. The monster details... Weapons :- 1) A huge powerful laser that atomizes organic material and melts metal. 2) Giant forceps with claw-action to seize, maim and crush. 3) Toxin generator that squirts poisonous glue, injects necrotising venom, sprays acid and nerve gas offensive. 4) Surgical tentacles & ovipositor to inseminate, lay eggs, hormone release and deadly spawn. Victims are turned into nightmarish mutations of all kinds. Abilities :- 1) The gigantic median eye has super telescopic vision that can zoom up to anything that is miles away. If you look closely, what appear to be 'nostrils' are actually eyes too. 2) Regeneration and multiplication of tentacles. 3) Huge protuberances from its head/brain utilise two massive crystals to produce energy that charges the creature to levitate and fly silently.

Since the game takes place in England (or is highly influenced by it), I would love so see demon/corrupted badgers. How would that work? No clue but I would die laughing if that came true.

If I were to summarize what kind of enemies I would like to see in the game,I would divide them into 5 sections
1-Horror Classics:Since this is a game based as a spiritual successor to Castlevania it would come to no surprise that the first kind of enemies to come to mind are those of the american monster-fest films,Dracula aka Vampires,The Wolf-Man aka Werewolves,Frankenstein aka Reanimated Abominations,Creature of the Black Lagoon aka Mermen such and such
However I would like to additionally see more recent added in horrors of recent years such as those fabled from movies and creepypasta, examples can include a monster based off the creature from Jeepers Creepers,A Santa-like Goat Demon based off the movie Krampus,a Slenderman shadow figure based off creepypasta,or maybe a gothic raven haired psychopath wrapped up in bandages that within moments breaks free and attacks you with a knife based off jeff the killer from creepypasta
2-Cryptids:Based off folklore and legends of unidentified animals, cryptids can be the thing of nightmares perfect for a gothic styled horror game including examples such as the wendigo, the jersey devil, the mothman, the dover demon, even nessie could be scary if done right,Japan also has their own share of cryptid monsters such as the Tsuchinoko,Kyuubi,The Kappa and such..in fact I think a kappa like monster was originally going to be one of the familiars?
3-Beasts and Animals"I remember back when Dracula was so desperate he would take any help he could get,Vampire Bats,Dive-Bombing Owls,Vicious stalking wolves, even oversized toads and frogs that would gang-jump you,No good horror game should be without its own share of corrupted wildlife, and since we are going for a Alchemist theme, perhaps later on we would see warped versions of the wildlife with crystalized forms and more demonic appearances
4-Alchemy Monsters:Constructs and Chimeras from the castles influence and failed alchemy experiments, things that come to mind are a Glass-Stained Gem Skeleton,a Fusion Chimera beast,Multiple and Various Golems
5-Material Monsters:This is my own idea, but basically material monsters are lesser enemies that are hunted down and used as materials for synthesis in making new items and familiars,They tend to drop an item or maybe a soul that's for crafting

Given the size of the castle, I could see room for a lot of different monsters, both classics and some unique creations.
A few ideas I've had are golem/elemental-like enemies shaped from masses of a type of thing; a large 'Page' Golem formed from discarded documents serving as a library boss, coming ablaze in the middle of the battle. Humanoids made of wine that appear in a winery/wine cellar as Miriam tramples some grapes in her path through the area. Flaming poltergeists that spawn from the fires around the area, such as the tiny candles lighting the hallways. Maybe invincible shadow panthers who can only be killed by exposure to light?
Breaking away from those, skeletons of all shapes and sizes are another thing I'd like to second; skeletal wyverns flitting about in mockery of aerodynamics, skeletal soldiers that attack in formation or charge recklessly, skeleton chimeras formed from stuffing different bones together, sky's the limit with our calcium-rich friends.
The post above covers some nice options, too. Classics, cryptids, corrupted animals, alchemical experiments gone wrong- and nothing saying you can't mix and match. Massive, three-eyed frogs, wolves forced into a roughly humanoid shape with exposed muscle from the contortions of their biology, dead villagers reanimated with a thirst for blood by strange masks or devices connected to them by transparent tubes, doll parts assembled into a rolling pile of limbs and heads and given motion...

I want these guys. But each one has a randomized speed and arc curve And you can't distinguish which ones petrify And they have a massive knockback And they are placed in a mostly vertical level full of spikes and moving platforms And they drop nothing but grapes And they can't be hit when inside walls And their hitbox is actually smaller than the model And they leave toxic spores (that take forever to fall) in the air after being killed And they can spawn a fleaman when killed

This is an idea of monster I drew some time ago. I think it's original and has a really intimidating look. The monster, which is some kind of tree that grows around a victim (adding dat creepy background monsters should have), wields a lance-like smaller "tree" and a wooden wheel as a shield. I don't think it it would be difficult to come up with a set of attacks: charges, lance attacks, defense with the shield, attacks with the legs. Also, from the top of the tree could appear birds (EVIL birds) that attack the player. I think that would be really fun. You could add many tree-related things. Maybe a hive could appear randomly and spawn more enemies. There is also something I like a lot in these games that is well made enemy variations, where you find the same enemy but with a different look and improved attacks (for example, the floating swords in SotN). If I had to make a variation for this monster, I could think of two: * A metal variation, where the skull is replaced by a helmet and piece of armor. The lance, from a certain point, isn't wood, but blades and other weapons incrusted in the wood. The shield would be something metallic... maybe a big metal shield, or a metal door. In order to add more visual differente, this version could have no leaves. * A porcelain/marble variation, creepy style. With a perfect, smooth porcelain mask over the skull, a solid, white marbel obelisk as lance, and a decorated marble surface as shield.

I think this could easily be Bloodstained's version of a "Treant" or "Dryad", perhaps. Though, it's just as likely that this could be something else. I'd love to see an original enemy with this design! (EDIT): Better yet, this could be a Jubokko! ("Vampiric Tree" of Japanese mythology) A yokai (demon) tree that sucks up human blood to nourish itself. It captures unsuspecting people with its branches to drain them of said vital liquid. (In other words, this is the hematovore counterpart to "man-eating trees".)

The setting is supposed to be european and gothic, and I think there is already more than far more than enough japanese elements.

Perhaps, though like previous Igavania-games, there are bound to be many enemies based on mythical monsters from all around the globe. Even Bloodstained isn't exactly limited to European monsters (or the Lesser Key of Solomon, for that matter, though that is currently what IGA is aiming for when looking for design inspirations for some of the monsters/bosses). There could be both, though. Man-eating trees and Jubokko alike, variants of tree-like enemies (likely in addition to Dryads). ^ I can say, however, that one of the few reasons I thought of the Jubokko is because it's supposed to be a demon. Demons are likely to comprise the vast majority of enemies faced by Miriam in Bloodstained, judging from what any of us know of the plot so far.

Another good enemy type that I think could tie in to the demon theme would be some "fallen angels" as elite enemies in the game. Many many say that demons and monsters are some sort of deity or angel that's fallen from grace. (Lucifer being a prime example) while there are many demons I think would heavily benefit from an Eldritch or some sort of alien look to them to show how nasty and evil they are but I also think that with some other demons you can apply a sort of warped and twisted version of Divinity to make them all the more jarring
