Hey guys Can someone show me a good example of typical "Dico-artstyle" that would be replaced / changed with Mana's art? Hi Yuri Zahard if Mana were to become more involved with the art and creation of marketing assets for Bloodstained it wouldn't be replacing anything, neither DICO or anyone else. The art the DICO has made so far has been along the lines of necessary concept art for the creation of in game assets. Nothing that we've used as public facing materials.
I mentioned this in a post earlier in this thread; I'm in charge of Bloodsatined publishing and I don't have anyone right now designated as my "artist" on the game. So I can't go to anyone and say "I need this art thing for this reason bla bla bla".
People are asking for Mana to become that person and fill that gap. Hope that helps.
I think this is an important point and clarification btw. Maybe it could be added to the first post?

I voted Yes because I really like Mana's artwork; however, there is a serious issue I feel I need to mention. This is one of those who-is-making-the-decisions-here situations. I want to be sure that this is what IGA wants for the game and not just what the fans/army of the night wants. Just because we have a lot of people who want one thing doesn't mean that thing is right for Bloodstained. It is the same situation as the shaders. IGA liked both shaders, and he left it up to the fans to decide. I don't like it when he does this kind of thing. I would much prefer for IGA to definitively say what happens one way or another. I mean, who do you want making this legendary successor to the Castlevania franchise? IGA or the fans? IGA has experience doing this. Fans are moody and often irrational. I'm sorry, but when compared to IGA, the Army of the Night knows f*ck-all about how to make an IGAvania game.

Is this only for the first picture that looks like cover art? If so, then yes. Personally, I’m not a fan of the pictures that follow it though. Pics two and three remind me of Final Fantasy concept art, which I was never a fan of.

IGAvaniacs, do you want to see art for Bloodstained go the direction of Mana's style? I think it's critical to the marketing success of the game that the art is as good as possible. Mana's art style is upholding the legacy IGA is known for. Going forward with Bloodstained assets as well as for potential later games would be more successful with Mana's art. This is important, so listen up! Mana is the Communication Manager at ArtPlay which means she can't just walk up to IGA and say, "Hey, the fans really like my stuff, you should make me more involved in art." It's not her style to be so bold, and it would be obviously bias coming from her. THAT'S WHY WE NEED YOU. Big enough numbers will be communicated with evidence that it's we the fans asking. The polls on this forum require a registration, so it's not a small amount of people voting multiple times. We have integrity. It's the fans who care enough to come here and vote to make the game more successful who are showing what they think is important. Sure we could probably get more votes outside a place you have to register, but this is the forum ArtPlay / IGA pays for. If you know someone who is interested in Bloodstained, send them here just to vote. Let's get 1000+ votes. You are the Army of the Night! I know we can do this! UPDATE: IntiCreates isn't involved in the main game anymore. Natsume-san hasn't provided art assets since around the time of the Kickstarter. DICO has been doing everything you have been seeing even before they were announced. That includes all the new monsters and characters. Mana is just the Communications Manager for ArtPlay. IGA is good with DICO continuing but I have reason to believe this is due to cost. If enough people show IGA by the numbers that we want Mana to lead the public art assets for Bloodstained much like Ayami Kojima had done for Castlevania, Bloodstained and it's potential future games will be more appealing to the masses (and to us). This is critical to it's success just as Ayami's work was with Castlevania. I do completely agree with IGA's wisdom. However I believe IGA is too humble to fully understand the power of his fans. If we show that this is important to enough people, I believe there is a decent chance that 505 Games will allocate more money to ArtPlay so that IGA can make an easy decision. That chance can't happen without us. With the end result of getting Mana a new position at ArtPlay, we have a mission. I think it will be best in the long run, and this is our opportunity to be heard in a significant manner. Thanks to Operation Akumajo, Castlevania Dungeon, ThePlotTwist and everyone else who are reaching out to fans and guiding them here! Most of all, thank YOU.

i love this piece, and natsume as the slipcover going into manas artwork on the box (either as the main with logo or the reversible as a clean print) would be an awesome parallel to the games growth from a love letter to fans to this symphony celebrating everything we love about igas games

I have to say, I like Mana's other pieces much more than the Bloodstained one. Maybe it's the composition that I'm not liking that much. Perhaps if she was actually getting paid to do something official for the game, she'd really go all in, so for that reason my vote is Yes. One way or another, her style really is much closer to what I would expect from an IGA game.

While I do like Mana's art. t I feel the need to point out that there is a difference between the two positions. We don't know how many art pieces are needed for the game, and there are deadlines and quality to consider.

It's her job and she is getting paid for this, working at ArtPlay. Isn't she the Communication Manager though? She was originally exclusively hired as the Community Manager but Angel-Corlux has taken a lot of those duties as of late. I think that Mana basically gets paid for whatever work she does for Art Play and Bloodstained, be it Community Management, Interview Translations or Art. Also, we have good reasons to believe that she is in charge of the Backer Portraits artwork so there's that. This is obviously a lot of work that she also gets paid for as it would be ridiculous not to pay her for this official artwork that is going to be in the game.

I really appreciate Angel-Corlux coming in here and clarifying some matters. Mana 's art is absolutely FANTASTIC but I felt conflicted as I had no idea what this would mean for Natsume and their art, what it would mean for Mana's time (we don't want to overburden her), etc. Knowing all these things will be non-issues, I can back this call with my full support I voted Yes because I really like Mana's artwork; however, there is a serious issue I feel I need to mention. This is one of those who-is-making-the-decisions-here situations. I want to be sure that this is what IGA wants for the game and not just what the fans/army of the night wants. I'm sorry, but when compared to IGA, the Army of the Night knows f*ck-all about how to make an IGAvania game. Your post is the most recent post (not the only) to express this opinion but I just have to interject:
- Nobody has a gun to IGA's head. If something happens with this project, its because he wants it to!
- Artists don't create in a vacuum. If they ask for feedback or react to unsolicited feedback, that doesn't constitute a corruption of their "vision"
- An artist's "vision" isn't in fallible or above reproach (few people who love previous Igavanias will call them perfect)
Bloodstained is going to be the game IGA wants it to be. How much outside forces do or don't influence it will not change that unless changes are made against IGA's will. However that has not and will not be the case here. Especially when it comes to the words of backers/fans/curious bystanders.
