So I was thinking back to how in "SotN", "PoR" and "HD", you could play as a lowly minion in some way or another. An axe armor in the former two and (if you died in multiplayer) a skeleton, in the latter.
This makes me wonder if this gag should run again in new IGA games.

Would be cool.
I believe we have getting a cryptic wink wink nudge nudge about "transformations" in the game. And with familiars and some features they have yet to show us and talk about, there are possibilities!
What would you suggest? Alucard could turn into wolf, bat and mist. Miriam seems a bit more grounded, but alchemy is a new area that IGA have shown an eager interest in exploring.

Certain Demons that are part of the Lesser Key of Solomon do have the ability to shapeshift and take on wildly different forms, so I think "playing as a minor enemy" might actually work for Miriam in that way.
Depending on their exact Shard abilities, she possibly could utilize the very form of a demon upon activating certain Effective Shards (though that depends on how exactly that Shard-type is activated in the first place).

I made my opinion on this known in earlier threads(mainly that, as some trying to stave off a transformation from the curse, transforming might not be something Miriam would see as useful) but, if I had to choose one, how about the decarabia starfish enemies as the "bat" equivalent?

I think that playing as an enemy would be interesting. Since Bloodstained will feature some new enemies, perhaps we might see something unexpected.
