I think they should hide an entire secret section of the castle so damn well that it would take years to find. Imagine that it's the winter of 2024, you've just beaten Bloodstained 3 or 4, and you hear in gaming news that some kid on youtube claims to have discovered a new level in Bloodstained 1. Then imagine that IGA confirms that discovery to be one of 2 undiscovered levels in Bloodstained 1. The original Halo trilogy is believed to still contain many undiscovered secrets. One was just found in Halo 3 just a couple of years ago and H3 came out 10 years ago. I think stuff like this in games is fascinating. It gives them a mystic quality that makes them more special and mysterious. I hope this game is jam-packed with endless secrets that have us Easter egg hunting for years. I also hope that said secrets are safely hidden from hackers or data miners or whatever they're called. I'd hate for a big secret to be spoiled by someone messing around in the game's code. Your thoughts? Note: I'm making this thread from the point of view of a hard core expert Easter egg hunter. EDIT: Oops, I probably should of posted this in Game Feature Suggestions, but oh well.. Mods feel free to move this thread if needed.

I disagree with this. The secret will be meaningless if no one can find it.
I strongly disagree with any data encryption to prevent data mining. Please do not dictate how other people play this game.
If you hate spoiler, stay away from it.

I think they should hide an entire secret section of the castle so damn well that it would take years to find. Will not happen. Secrets like this will be found very fast with todays standards, datamine programs, hacks etc. This, because the game will be on PC, while Halo were on console (if I get this right). However... If they add patches, secrets can stack. Since every game today "must have internet or else - aw mah gawd!", even if it is a offline singleplayer gaming experience. I hope this game is jam-packed with endless secrets that have us Easter egg Me too!

I'm actually in total agreement. Not so much that it's super impossible to find.... but can we please have some OPTIONAL AREAS WITH OPINIONAL EQUIPMENT AND OPTIONAL BOSSES hidden really well? Maybe by breaking a wall you wouldn't think to break or using a power on something you wouldn't think to use it on.
There's nothing wrong with having extremely hard to find locations in the game as long as they aren't integral to the story. It'd be nice to have more moments like that for sure

I like that too, although i know that by today standards is almost impossible. Igavania games had things like that in the past. Symphony of the Night is the biggest example. Some secrets of it were so damn well hidden that it actually took a lot of time for people to discover them. I remember the secret elevator on Outer Wall, where you need to break the wall to the left and stand in the hole for a while and suddenly a secret elevator will show up and take you down to the room below with a room that you can only enter using the mist form. There is absolutely NO tip or any kind of indication of that secret whatsoever. Not only that, but small bits and easter eggs that were really interesting. Just searching about them now made me stumble upon some that i didn't remember haha (" If Alucard waits around long enough for Cthulhu, the monster will rear back, and release a powerful, ice-based blast across the floor.") I don't think i ever saw that The fact that the Stone Mask item is a reference to Jojo (Stone Mask is found at the library, just like the Stone Mask at Jojo is found at Joestar's library. The same item has aztec description on Portrait of Ruin, following the Joke. I never noticed that either. I think that, creating secrets that are almost impossible to find is almost...impossible to do nowadays. But those easter eggs? The game can easily have a ton of them and i would like that.

Please do not dictate how other people play this game. How on Earth did you get that impression from what I wrote? lol I think it was more generally directed at how a game director would dictate how the game is played rather than you specifically. Sometimes intention is hard to read on the internet. Regardless, as long as it's nothing that wouldn't be missed if skipped, but would enhance the experience years down the road, I think it's a great idea to still wonder about the secrets of the castle after you've put the game down for years.

Just because it's easier to find secrets in games now because of hackers and the internet world doesn't mean secrets and hard to find things shouldn't be included. For one not everyone scours the web to spoil things for those people the secrets will remain secrets. When playing the first time. Hell, even if they miss things andfind out on the internet later it doesn't change the coolness of going " holy crap I missed this? Now I gotta check for myself!"

I don't think it will happen, for the reasons described above. That said, to me easter eggs fully make sense when they can be interpreted, be them in a stupidly obvious way or a much subtle one.
Once again from CSOTN: - OMG, so this is how you use these peanuts! - The ring to rule over all?! - How come it's a puny ghosts that holds this thing?! - Scuba lolol..
That duck: - Get a silk bag from the graveyard duck to live longer. Then you get a duck in Aria of Sorrow, one in Order of Ecclesia...
Portrait of Ruin: - A little homage to SMB 2 via the quicksand part?
Etc.
