BalancedHydra It feels like I've been out of the loop recently. Is Season 2 still set to air soon?

Season 2 should be out next month. However, the announcement of a third season is particularly exciting.

Season one and two are supposed to be the result of the original project - three animated movies narrating the story of Dracula's Curse, which then got split into four episodes each (first and second season, being 4 and 8 episodes respectively).

Assuming that this project hasn't been changed, then a third season would mean a new story entirely and we won't know what the season is gonna cover until we get further details. That's pretty hype to me.

If you ask me?... I kinda want it to be an adaptation of Symphony of the Night (for the first half), and then the new story (1999 Demon Castle War).

I'd also want it to be twice as long as Season 2.

Last but not least, of course, I'd want a depiction of yours truly in the series.  

I would hope so... but if the main character of this theoretical arc is (of course) Alucard?

I wouldn't be surprised if Rondo of Blood was just briefly-summarized and/or some events in flash-backs (vaguely similar to SotN's infamous "Die Monster!" opening scene)

I hope I'm wrong, and Richter does get more time in the spotlight.

Heh ok so here's I think the most likely and advisable things they'll be doing with the story. They've started with CV3 obviously for a good reason - establishing characters and motivations. It's a good origin point and a fan favorite game, and lets them bring in Alucard for of course doing SotN later. The question is, what are the steps to get there? I see 3 paths, all involving season 2 bridging to one of these:

Dracula X which would then lead into Symphony. They would need to establish Richter and Maria as characters before just tossing them into SotN's castle. 
Curse of Darkness. Trevor is already a popular character, this way they can get further use out of him, probably altering the story some to also include Sypha/Alucard.
Castlevania 1, which becomes the following season a compression of 1+2 since comparatively there isn't much going on/character wise compared to 3.

I unfortunately can't picture them doing much with the portable games, except possibly following the conclusion of SotN's arc doing Bloodlines > Portrait > '99 > Sorrow story.

Curse of Darkness would be the absolute dream for a die hard fan of that game like me.

I think that SotN is more likely, though. Possibly even without animating Dracula X in its entirety because frankly pretty much nothing unusual happens in that game plot wise. Besides, I'm pretty curious about how they're gonna finish CV3's story in the second season while keeping it interesting, so depending on that we could understand if they're going to move to a """"plot heavy"""" game like SotN or possibly another classicvania.
