Has there been any word if IGA, Mana, Romscout, or any other guest will be showcasing Bloodstained during the stream? None that I know of, but I know for a FACT there are Miriam cosplayers present! I also believe IGA will attend somewhere, sometime at E3.

Iga sounded like he had doubts of some of the Bloodless fight making it into the final game. really gotta find some way to insist he doesn't censor anything, I know from previous forums posts most if not all of us are against censorship of any kind, especially for that fight because that fight is just way too awesome to take away from us.

A) That was a cool demo. Thanx for those who just put it up on Youtube B) I feel they made that segment more awkward than it needed to be by going "oh I dunno if that will make the final game". Just play the game! Way fewer people care than you think and you doing that just shines a huge light on the potential issue LOL. C) IF (its not going to happen) there is a significant number of people who find Bloodless' design distasteful, they respectfully make their preferences known to IGA, he listens, decides they have a point and changes things - that's NOT censorship. That's listening to feedback. No one (be it a government agency, a rouge gamer with a gun to his head, etc.) would have forced him to do anything. The game is still in development where things are always in flux. People need to learn what censorship actually is! LOL D) If you guys like Bloodless as she is (or even think her design could be improved in ways that have nothing to do with more/less sex appeal) than you are just as free to respectfully make your preferences know to IGA et al as those who hypothetical may not like the design. Don't get hyperbolic and don't attack other people who express themselves respectfully. Doing otherwise is just embarrassing. I love you guys but too many of you react to any sort of criticism against this project poorly (even hypothetical criticism). E) The trailer/gameplay (and by extension Bloodless' design) has been up since Friday. It doesn't matter where I've been online, I've not seen a SINGLE person complain about Bloodless' design. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume way more people are/will be fine with her design compared to Vepar because Bloodless is not over the top or in your face in the manner Vepar was. Most people don't intrinsically have issue with "sexy things" - degree and context matter. Can we wait till someone actually complains before we get agitated/worried?

This video is a way better example of the game than the trailer, it looks so much better in this video than the trailer. I hope the video gets around.
I really love how similar the layout and it's reminiscent of SOTN's bell tower in a good way. While still having it's own look and feel.
I'm happy they confirmed you can level up familiars in the game. Definitely means they will improve throughout. Thank god they are deeper than how they were in aria/dawn. I still hope they get rid of that blue glow over the summons/familiars. Just change the color of the thing helping you, that can be how it contrasts from the enemies.

Finished watching the stream.
I don't think IGA wants to change Bloodless boss fight intro for "censorship reasons" but more from his art direction perspective. Bayonetta's intro is way more aggressive than this IMO.
Gameplay-wise, familiars are interesting, weapons are cool, this segment looks very fun in total. Visual-wise it's already pretty good in a whole, the texture on the background objects are extremely detailed, but foreground objects (like actual platforms) are a little bit bland in comparison, and some other details like the bell crushing need more polishing. Miriam's idle animation with weapons are cool, but she might need more animation frames while in action, I do like to see scarf floating in the wind while she's running.
Can't wait for alpha build.

I don't have any inside information on this, but just based on the way IGA described it I wouldn't describe what he's talking about as possible censorship—it sounded more like "During the initial process I go really far into the ideas I have, and I may or may not pull it back in the final product as I refine it."
Which is a good way to write/create art, in my experience—better to have a first draft that's a little too intense but has fun things in it than a first draft that's really boring and you have to try punching up.

cool, i can see that, and i thought the intensity worked very well for the character while still having this air of aristocracy, especially when her blood began forming the victorian style dress and sucking up all the blood in the tub

It's not really clear if he means he went overboard for his own taste, or his publisher's taste, or the market's taste - but he doesn't seem too worried about it, honestly, so neither should we.

Just watched it. Here are my two cents. 1) IGA said that, traditionally, you will get White Shards (Skill Shards) from enemies, not through the stage, but they put Double Jump there because they didn't want to put "Multiple Bosses" at the Demo. So, they do plan to put White Shards / progression abilities in general at bosses.
2) IGA said the game will not have a "crazy" amout of Familiars, but the number is satysfing. Also, he confirmed that familiars can be leveled up, as they said, like some other game IGA worked on. The games were Familiars could be leveled up was: Symphony of the Night, by obtaining EXP. Curse of Darkness, by EXP points and obtaining crystals to change their level forms. Dawn of Sorrow, by farming souls of the same type. Order of Ecclesia, by farming Glyphs of the same type. It is most probably that familiars at Bloodstained will be leveled up by farming Shards of the same type.
3) There is one point at the demo, where IGA opens up the menu, and we can see all the weapont ypes, refined as it is now. They are: Single-hand Sword, Dagger, Double-hand Sword, Katana, Spear, Club, Boots, Whip and Rapier.
4) IGA also opened up the Shards Menu. Not only there is a new window showing up Skill Shards, but they changed the Shards information below. Now there is "Grade", "Rank" and MP Cost.
5) There is a moment (12:20) where IGA slashes a Dullahammer head with the Whip, and the demon's body actually flies up in a comical way. I wonder if that is a bug, or it is on purpose, because the enemy took such a high damage that it's body got tossed away when killed.
6) Around 12:32, IGA Double Jumps, uses a diving kick at a Dullahammer head and double jumps again to reach a chest. They talk about that later on.
7) Dullahammer Head familiar goes out of it's way counteless times to hit enemies off the screen. I consider that a really nice touch and i don't remember many familiars doing that in the past. It seems it is way more active then his past games.
8) At the Boss area, while Ben is explaining, IGA actually does a sort of overly quick backdash sequences that i really think they let it there for speedrunners. This is the point where they talk about that IGA sometimes goes a little overboard. I don't think they was talking about censorship or anything, just how his ideas flow up and he needs to counter them sometimes.
9) They said that Bloodless lose her clothing by USING her blood attacks and she needs to recharge by absorbing the blood from the scenario. I thought (and many thought) that was a healing skill. So, it isn't.
10) IGA explained that familiars doesn't use MP. You can activate them and they will be with you, with no limitation of usage.
11) The music of the scenario is Holy Wisdom.
CLOSING COMMENTS
I don't know why, but the Demo looks way better than any of the other videos we watched before. I don't have anything to comment besides what i pointed out up there. Keep up the good work guys. That's all folks!

Improvements are to be made, but still, this is better. A minor gripe: the dagger and rapier seem to function mostly the same. Why would you use the knives over the rapier if knives are like rapier but shorter and weaker? Knives are underappreciated in games, I would have like them to be unique/have reasons to be used P.S.: even the familiars look way better and more crystal-like!

Actually in SOTN my favorite weapon is the black dagger, at least in the first half of the game. It's extremely fast and deals a fair amount of damage. Rapier should be a little bit slower IMO.
