I got VLR on my Vita during a period where it was free for PSPlus members. I did my first run through without any guides, and I went down the Luna route. Unfortunately, the game's 'lock' mechanic meant I was slung back to the elevator at the password screen.
I even tried to cheat at the password screen and turned to the internet, but the game won't accept the correct password in the Luna route until the game has specifically told the player the password. Heh.
Yesterday, I finished the last of Samurai Warriors 4-II's 13 character stories. (I hope any Japanese history buffs like the Battle of Sekigahara, because you'll be doing that battle a lot of SW4II's story mode.) I also played Disgaea 5's demo today. The Disgaea franchise's gameplay is fun, but I dislike all the grinding you have to do. Probably skip on getting the actual game even if I generally enjoyed the demo.

During my down periods and breaks at work, I play Shantae and the Pirate's Curse. The fact that there's no dancing this time around upped the pace of this game significantly. I can't believe I'm saying this of all people, but I gotta go fast! I'm playing this so far with no hints or guides. So far, I'm doing more than well, but those extra squids and tinkerbats are starting to grate on my nerves. I spend hours just running around looking for another solution to that one extra JUST out of reach. On the upside, I get to experience more of the soundtrack... Speaking of which, I think this is Kaufman's best work so far. He took what he learned from the first Mighty Switch Force, Double Dragon Neon, and Shantae: Risky's Revenge into a Plague Knight style cauldron. I kid, but those first 3 influences are definitely prevalent. I just wish he would have remixed/added "She's Got Moves" song too. It was my favorite song from Risky's Revenge beating out Burning Town and the File Select song which BOTH returned in Pirate's Curse: Heck the remix of it he personally made for OCremix would have been perfect for this game. It was even featured in one of the first trailers: Here's the trailer!

Got around to playing Gone Home, Serena, and Estranged: Act 1. I enjoyed exploring the house and listening to the audio logs in Gone Home and had a fun two and a half hours, but it's hard to justify the $20 price tag. Serena was a pretty neat short point-and-click game and lasted less than an hour, but I can't see myself revisiting it anytime soon. Estranged was pretty neat, but it wasn't running well for some reason despite my laptop being able to play around 300 hours of TF2, so I plan to come back to it later once I get a good gaming PC.
Since Microsoft is doing a free weekend for Xbox Live on 360, I think I might turn my own and enjoy some games I bought for cheap a long time ago, but have still yet to play somehow.

Since most of the Xbox 360 games in my backlog are single-player, I decided to spend a little bit of time getting the final treasure chests and memory fragments in Assassin's Creed: Rogue.
What's more shocking to me is that it's been five years since Read Dead Redemption came out, I own the GOTY edition, and I still haven't played it. Time to fix that.I know there's multiplayer too, but I'm not expecting the community to be active since I heard Rockstar stopped supporting it.

Yeah, about that... today, I decided to switch gears and play Charlier Murder instead because it's a multiplayer game and I want to take advantage of the free weekend. Loved the first cutscene of RDR, though. Still, I'm sure people would appreciate a sequel or a PC port of RDR.

I think I've had my fill of Charlie Murder. It was fun, but it felt like Castle Crashers: Hot Topic edition. Didn't like the story parts. I thought it slowed the game down and I just wasn't interested in it.
If there's still a multiplayer community for Mass Effect 3, I guess I'll play it tomorrow. If not... well, I guess I'll still be playing it since I remember I got the DLC when it was on sale, but never actually played it. Then after that it'll probably be time for RDR.

Beat Shantae and the Pirate's Curse. Got the true ending.
What to do next? Well my plan is still Silent Hill 2. I also have a plethora of horror movies I need to get through. This is the first time I'm taking anything Halloween related to heart. I usually ignore it since the macabre isn't really my thing. I then realized I missed out on some great stuff, so I'm changing that. Dunno which movie I'll start with. I think I'll go with Friday the 13th, since the 13th was yesterday and it isn't Friday today.

Perhaps I'll play that on the 31st for some spooky goodness.

I decided to check out Yandere Simulator after seeing the developer videos on youtube.
On one hand, I know it's supposed to be a goofy anime high school parody with stealth action in the style of Hitman where you play as a crazy person and nothing is supposed to be taken seriously (for example, you get different bonuses depending on what pair of panties your character is wearing). On the other, I'm a little uncomfortable with some of the incredibly dark options the player can do in the game (kidnapping people and breaking their minds in order to convince them into committing murder-suicide, bullying students into committing suicide) and the potential victims are just high school students. I don't think I have it in me to do that stuff, but I do like how they're optional.
However, I thought the creator was putting a lot of polish and effort in his game, it looked ambitious, I'm interested in the non-violent alternatives to accomplish your goals (blackmail, gossip, and acting like a Game of Thrones character in general) and I had fun just goofing around in the sandbox. It's something I want to re-visit in the future once when more progress gets made.

After spending quite some time with Samurai Warriors 4-II, I've got mixed feelings on it.
I've never been terribly bothered by the lack of depth in the combat system of Dynasty Warriors/Samurai Warriors games, and most of the other criticisms directed at Warriors games seem to be made by people who haven't actually played them, but this game...
On one hand, they fixed a number of annoying issues that were in the first SW4 (my character now won't abruptly stop everytime he gets a new objective, the AI of enemy officers is less helpless and they'll even use Musou attacks on me) on the other hand, the story mode leans heavily toward the redundant side of things. Story mode contains 13 character stories, mostly dedicated to new characters like Takatora Todo and Naomasa Ii, each story is comprised of five battles, but the problem is that you tend to spend way too much time doing the Odawara Campaign, the Battle of Sekigahara, and the Osaka Campaign. To add insult to injury, sometimes the battle will be the exact same, with the exact same missions and progression. (e.g. the Osaka battle at the end of Kojuro's story is the exact same as the Osaka battle at the end of Nobuyuki's story, the only difference is some minor dialogue to accommodate the different protagonist of the story.)
This also results in Free Mode being overloaded with Odawara, Sekigahara, and Osaka battles. It's also lame that they removed Chronicles Mode, the mode that's supposed to star your Create-A-Warrior. Granted, SW4's Chronicles Mode got monotonous with one contextless battle after another, but had the perk of seeing my CAW start to befriend every official playable cast member. SW4II just has the much lamer Survival Mode. On that note, it's a shame that, although SW4 and SW4II have the exact same character creator tools, my custom characters from the first game didn't transfer over.
SW4II is recommendable to Warriors fans, but people who are less fond of the games should be a bit skeptical of buying this for full price. And I'll still be playing it a great deal, even if it ended up being a bit less then I thought it would be.

I find it so hard to get into the Dynasty/Samurai Warriors games due to the dlc, overall price, and the fact that I barely have the game a week before the next one arrives. lol I love beating up the enemies though so I am sure I will get back into it after Halloween.

Nah... the DLC don't give out much, I do want to have the Scenario DLC to have more things to do I managed to clear the survival mode in Samurai Warriors 4 ii with Gracia ( I have no idea how in the world I managed to use her in this game, while I sucked using her in any other games )
