Just curious if people think David Hayter will use a voice that sounds like Snake, or if he will use his natural voice, or perhaps something else. I'm curious what his natural voice would sound like but it might be cool to hear something different too.

A Solid Snake sound for Gebel would seem really out of place to me. It would seem a bit more fitting for a character like Zangetsu imo, but even then, I don't really want his contribution to come across as just "hey lol we have Snake in this game!! Suck it Konami"
I mean, the latter part of that is great and all, but yeah.

I admit that having a character with the voice of Solid/Naked Snake would be awesome, but I believe that once again, we should get rid of the Konami-tied past and do with something totally fresh.
I guess it would be quite off-putting like purifyweirdsoul said. I'm sure he's tired of being called David "Snake" Hayter anyway.
Besides, I am sure that one of the high-level backers asked M. Hayter to say a random line in the voice of Snake. I am rather intrigued by it.

We don't know very much about Gebel. He wiped out the Alchemist guild out of vengeance. How do you think a guy like that might sound? For better or worse, Gara from Naruto comes to mind.

While David Hayter is one of my favorite people in the world, I love the real Snake voice, and think it would be fun to hear it in Bloodstained, I feel he should do something fresh with Gebel in order to help the game forge its own identity beyond "Castlevania 2.0: FucKonami Edition."
Plus, if anything, we should be asking him to use the same voice he used for the Museum Cop at the end of the first X-Men movie.

As if any could hope to replicate the majesty redefined by me (I made that line up, sounds like something he might say in the first game). Truth be told one of the reasons why I liked Ghaleon so much was he was a good guy, and a badguy, and a good guy and a bad guy and.. ffs make up your mind man. That and voice acting in games was really a thing (I played it when it was new on the segacd, not the ps1, it was REALLY spiffy back then). |
