I don't know if anyone has noticed this before (a quick search didn't turn up anything, but I could have missed it), but since the E3 demo thread is locked, I'll post about it here.
I was goofing around in the demo and ran across an oddity tonight. I wasn't really making an effort against Vepar or most other enemies so I both came in somewhat low in HP and let Miriam get hit quite a bit during the boss fight. The oddity came at the end. I got the Level Up notification telling me that Vepar has been slain...but I was close enough to the boss so as to be in range of touch damage. Despite Vepar being technically dead, I still took one last hit, not from a water spout or anything projectile-based, but from direct contact with the boss. It took off 10 HP, leaving Miriam with only 3.
So...has anybody tried/managed to get killed by Vepar AFTER killing it first? And if that's a possibility...is it a good thing or a bad thing?

...so what? If you die, you die - no matter if you killed the boss first. I'd say it'd only make sense to just be back at your last save point and having to beat the boss again but properly this time. Since beating a boss in Igavanias doesn't constitute as a save point, I don't see why it should make any difference.

A couple times I managed to jump into Vepar and get killed by its swinging bewbs a frame after killing it, it reset before the "Thank You For Playing" screen came up. I could probably replicate it again if you wanted a video for whatever reason.

I agree with Yan, it's really not that big of a deal. Small glitches like this happen all the time. it seems to be an issue of timing on both occurrence.
Does thank you for playing come up if you die as well?
In either case, neither seems game breaking. and the first isn't even an issue in my eyes, there are enemies who do damage after their deaths, and I would just see it like that personally.

Normally in the metroidvania games, you're forced to go back to the save point once you die. There is none of such in the demo.
I don't think that respawning you where you died works either since it is not in the mechanics of the genre (that said, in the Indivisible Prototype you respawned at various checkpoints. A rarity)
I guess that the "Thanks for playing" comes either you die or win the boss battle. After that I never tried the demo, I wasn't lucky enough to be one of the initial backers for the game.

Solutions
A. Code so all attacks from boss get nullified once the last blow towards the boss is done, unless that enemy have a death animation with an last effort to attack you, check will end up being a solution B.
B. If you die, you die. Too bad, hope you learned your lesson.
C. If you kill before you die, next time you enter the bossroom, the boss is gone. (Bad suggestion)

The demo is a special case, death before galleon Minerva gets to the island would mean resetting. this is not good
