I personally loved Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness, but I'm almost certain that IGA only made them because konami pressured him into doing so. I remember the biggest complaints of those games being the lack of detail and bad level design. With today's technology and no time pressing konomi, I think IGA could pull off a well made 3D Bloodstained, but should he?

...Who knows, if he so desires and that the community approves of it, as well. For now his plate is full and he has to ensure the best quality and reception will emerge from this very current project.
Maybe there is an alternate universe where Master IGA proposed a 3D version of Bloodstained. Haha. I guess I'll be going now. Take care, have fun.

Dude... let the guy release the first game he promised us. Lets concentrate on that before we pester him with sequels.
The last time a Kickstarter game started talking about franchise possibilities before the first game was even out, Mighty No 9 happened.
Let's encourage Iga on this one because there's no franchise without a foundation and that foundation is Bloodstained Ritual of the Night.

Other than From Software and Platinum Games, there really aren't many people I trust to make a game with enjoyable 3D action gameplay with any consistency. IGA seems to be at his best designing in the 2D arena. I'd support him if he wanted to give 3D another go, but if I'm being asked my opinion, I'd rather see him continue to refine his 2.5D approach.

As much as I'd like to see IGA attempt another 3D game, I have to agree with Aztec. Let's wait and see about that after IGA and co. are finally finished with content for Bloodstained (and after it's released).

Eh, we don't always have to have a 3d envisionment of a concept. Sometimes 2D is good enough. Iga-san seems more directed at keeping this particular 2D alive than the pressured 3D form past producers (Konami).
Sometimes 2D makes a dent in the crowds of 3D.

I also loved Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness. Still, I'd rather see 2D games from IGA. Something that has been much too apparent these past nine years is that not even one other developer has been able to replace/replicate IGA's 2D games. I'd love to be able to play more, and then look forward to others.

I'd love to see IGA start working on a 3D Bloodstained.....well AFTER he is done with Bloodstained and its stretch goals.
A good 3D game is hard for a lot of devs to bring to fruition. The Souls games are pretty spot on with the realization of 3D worlds and putting the player into them. I'm a big fan of Team Ninja for 3D stuff as well. Capcom does OK. I really enjoyed LoI and CoD, so I would say build on that with improvements where needed. I'd also look at what the N64 Castlevania games did as far as 3D atmosphere. Heck, even take note of Mercury Steam and the atmosphere that drips from LoS1. IGA could easily pull from all these sources and create something truly amazing. I'm on board. Where do I send my backer funds?

Like how he should appease the non buying masses instead of properly putting mechanics together.

Igas no good at 3d castlevania games. Developing one of those would take time away from developing a 2d one.

I think if he wants to do one, he should try... I don't know if the 3d Castlevanias were held back because of Konami or because Iga-sama was not used to making 3d games... either way, I would love to see his attempt at a 3d bloodstained game.

I know IGA would make a good game if they got more resources and time. 2D is something I grew up with, so I will always like that a bit more than 3D.

I have never been interested in 3D games, except for Silent Hill. I like Igavanias because of their 2D gameplay. If he wants to make a 3D game at some point, I think I would still support him, if the quality can be high enough. I would support him even just for soundtrack (thinking of Yamane) and artwork (except if it was the anime artwork like DOS and POR which I didn't particularly care for). IGA should make games he wants to make, and I think if he is passionate for the project and the idea is good, most of his fans would support him.

Iga-sama's 2D games will always be awesome... and I don't think he should do it for the next game (I know what people mean when they say "let the first game come out"). but I think it would be nice if, after a few games he can make the 3D Igavania he always wanted to (again, IF he wants to). I grew up with 2D games... and there are games that are better in 2D, no doubt. but I don't think Igavanias are one of those things... I think there could be an awesome 3D Igavania. But that's just my opinion... lol...

I believe he are building up Bloodstained, having a second installment in mind. And after Bloodstained (and success with it) he will make a second 2D. Whatever success or not, perhaps a 3D project would be something for him there after, just to try something new. But I do not know how much he is actually interested in 3D.
Thoughts on this goes mostly on Bloodstained and its 2,5 D style. Once you have touched upon it (and even older 3D on Mega Drive and Super Nintendo), there is always some experiments happening within those games.
If Unreal Engine is something IGA finds to be very exciting, my guess is that Bloodstained 2 will have more 3D areas than Bloodstained 1. And make a fully 3D game as his third project since IGA had his "come-back" with the Bloodstained era. I do not believe the 3D will be Bloodstained however, but something other than Gothic, something different that he would like to make.
They say the journey is more fun than the goal, the experience is what we are grateful for at the end. If Bloodstained touches upon the 3D in a pace that IGA enjoys, then a 3D game will surely be done during the next few years. Spin-off or totally new idea.

i like loi and cod, and given the limitations and learning curve the team had to go through in the transition they did a damn good job for their first couple outings (the improvements between the 2 games shows this), so IF iga decided he wanted to try his hand again at a 3d title id be interested in that, but right now bloodstained is his focus, and any inspiration for later games is probably getting written down and stored for later use

I enjoyed Lament of innocence and Curse of Darkness, They were an interesting take on the Castlevania franchise, but to be honest.. it wasn't enough, they had too many problems that affected the overall experience.
Lament of innocence: The story was superb! I enjoyed how IGA managed to show us what Dracula was before he became the vampire he is in the franchise, I also loved the character design and dramatic music there, the fast paced whip action was truly fun but limited and unlocking the other whips was kinda useless since they all had the same moveset with few stats elements added to them. The level design was flawed with the repatitive tight hallways and many of the rooms looked basically the same.
Curse of Darkness : Again, the story was good. They have learned from their past mistakes with the combat to the point where I was lost in options ( which is always a good thing! ). The Devil innocent system was really fun and interesting, there was a variety of weapons and each weapon had it's own combos and command list, graphics were a bit better than it's predecessor, but it was still not enough, also the repatitiveness of the same hallways are back, but not as bad as they were before.
Imo.. I enjoyed both titles, but if IGA is going to make a 3D game he should really make it better than both CoD and LoI or the result is going to be rough for an Indie studio. So I think he should stick to what he is brilliantly good at instead of taking more risks.
