It's a fairly valid thing to talk about, I think haha. I haven't really considered how the curse functions in a real world sense.
I think that the crystals are hard, but may/may not impair mobility because they're more or less hard skin lesions rather than something internal growing out. At some point, I think that it does manifest kind of like cancer does, spreading to certain organs, but the actual "magic" properties of it would make it so that even at near 100% coverage, the person could animate and function more or less like a crystal golem would. Those kinds of monsters shouldn't practically be able to move their arms and such, either, but because of the power that animates them, they can. In this case, it would be the power of the curse taking over, maybe connected to the individual's mind/will (until it isn't and they go insane?).
At the point it takes over organs like the stomach, genitalia etc, I think that similarly, the curse's power would compensate in a fashion to make that person function, or it may kill them if it spreads in just the wrong way. It may depend on the willpower/magic ability of the afflicted. Are you attuned enough to deal with it and embrace it, or will the curse prevent the required intake you as a more average human need of food/water?
It could go a lot of ways. I wonder how deep IGA has thought into this hahaha

I picture the crystals to be like Colossus from X-men. Hard that it can withstand blows yet malleable that you don't have to walk like a robot.
In the case of Gebel, I wonder how much $$$ he would make if he sold his crystallized reproductive organs. Let's not forget that he is crystallized everywhere except the heart.

Thank you for the analysis, Pure Miriam, Zechs, and Enkeria Gin. This is the type of insight I was hoping to see, especially with Gebel's situation, the soft/gelatinous crystals, and digested food getting crystalized; never really took arm and leg movement into consideration. It could go a lot of ways. I wonder how deep IGA has thought into this hahaha I have a feeling he thought "I want to go in this direction because I think it looks cool visually," and that was the extent of it. IGA doesn't have to include an explanation for how the crystals would impact regular human functions, but it's fun to speculate how it would actually work and it could lead to some interesting in-game lore. Also, in regards to everyone else's reactions...  |

who says gebel doesn't just float around like dark soma? we haven't actually seen him in game yet. who says he needs to eat and cant live off the powers generated by the crystals? who says that the cristals cannot be completely hard and consume the flesh, we have seen so many other beasts in games that are made entirely out of crystal but can still move about.

Enkeria Lestaroth you two actually made me rethink why i posted that  Goobsausage I remember one thing that IGA said, regarding candles in Castlevania and food on walls in a interview for Wired. W: Last question. Why does Dracula keep putting meat inside the walls of his castle?
IGA: You should ask, why do they eat it! I've thought about this stuff. I've actually thought about the candles. The candles are people's souls that were taken by Death or by the vampires. In Japan there are candles that represent life. So, when you release the souls from the candles by whipping them, they give you a "thank you" present. Thank-you hearts, or thank-you holy water. The meat, I have no idea.
So, SOMETIMES, IGA does think about those minor details. But not all of them. Maybe he never thought about Miriam and Gebel's butts being crystalized... or maybe he thought about it, just for the hell of it

Who needs money in hell? And Is it confirmed the crystals are actually SKIN, and not attached TO skin as a very thin but extremely powerful layer? |

I think it woul,d be easier to think of trhe crystal shards to have the same properties of dragon scales. so far they do. I like this thought on the crystals. I had envisioned them as being hard rather than 'gelatinous' which makes them sound to 'squishy' in my opinion. The idea of smaller crystals being similar to dragon scales seems like it would allow for proper movement while the crystals themselves are hard. This seems to go along with the visuals for Vespar and some of the monster concept art where they appear to have large shards sticking out of them in addition to somewhat crystallized skin.. |

hooray for post likes. anyway, as far as demons having shards I cant help but flashback to innocent devils from COD. I think he is trying to bring that one back. he has said before that only true demons possess shards....
