Out here in Vegas, it might as well be American fighting game central until something changes. I give props to the smaller tournaments keeping themselves and their favorite games alive. I mean for crimeny's sake, I saw a tournament for a Sailor Moon fighting game on SNES.

To me, it doesn't matter how old, strange, or unbalanced a fighter is so long as it's fun. MvC2 is a complete mess, and yet it's loved by many many people including myself.

Also I played Arcana Heart 3 at an arcade and found it not bad. The potential was there, but the slow air dashing didn't work for me.

I'm sitting here wondering where Turbo HD Remix and Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown are as far as PC releases. For the latter Sega has a ton of ports everywhere, but they neglected that game despite it selling much better than they ever expected. As for the former, even if they did throw it on there it's arguably too late just like UMVC3. Actually, 3rd Strike Online Edition should be on steam as well. I mean if Melty Blood can get a steam release at this point, I don't see why not anymore.

Just because Capcom is the way they are, probably lol. And yes, some guys play the Sailor Moon fighting game as kind of a silly/meme thing to do at majors.

Slow air dashing, you say? Well, if you were trying to get around with regular dashes, then yeah...some of those are pretty slow. But there's a button dedicated to just flying around the screen, hahaha. It's called "homing". Both players are pretty much expected to 90% of the time be in the air, some people call the meta "air footsies". You can actually make that itself faster by hitting the homing button a second time, which sends you at the other guy at a speed where neither of you can really react to what happens with an exchange, unless something connect with a whole lot of hitstun etc.

So...it's definitely not a slow game, anything but. Some characters can slow the pace of the match though, but in a way like Dhalsim or Guile would (just as a way more basic example). If you like Marvel 2 a lot, it's not all that different as far as how huge the screen is and variety.

All kidding aside, I discovered this particular...special player a few weeks back by the name of "Low Tier God". In short he's a whiny, rage quitting, piece of trash. However, he's absolutely hysterical. I can't help but laugh at his pathetic attempts to insult his own fans or ban them for arbitrary reasons. This guy was even banned from TWITCH...FOR LIFE! There's all sorts of other hysterical gems like how he had to unban Maximillian in order for Max to donate to him to save his apartment. (He had to unban a man...to save himself...whom he never should have banned to begin with), or how his girlfriend dumped him so he started raging hard against his sister, who he blamed for his girlfriend dumping him...who reported him to facebook and got his ass banned. Nice one.

There's footage all over youtube/reddit or whatever of this guy, but I'm going to link some of my absolute favorites.
