It's not really about it being a joke, people sound out acronyms like that. First time I heard SotN as "sote-n" was during Speed Demos Archive's livestream. Especially if it's something that resembles an actual word (and SotN actually doesn't), people are going to say it that way...and "rotten" isn't so far off from "sote-n".
I imagine subsequent games will have similar subtitles, but maybe would just be known casually as 2, 3, etc.
I had actually just looked through the topics in this forum to see if there was a topic about this, Thomas, so you're not alone. Hoping this game doesn't end up being referred to as "rotten bull____". lol =/
