The one thing that has always bothered me about Bloodstained is the not-so-lovely acronym the title creates.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night =
"BS RotN", or "B RotN" or just "RotN"
As we all know acronyms are commonplace among castlevania games. In fact I rarely see a games title written out in full. Should we be concerned that Bloodstained will forever be referred to as RotN or am I just being preemptively defensive?

Well, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is simply called SOTN, so I think it's fine for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night to be referred to as ROTN. It's just a way to save time from typing out the full name which is quite long. Much like how people type lol instead of laugh out loud.

I just call it BS because bloodstained is the name and RotN is more the subtitle IMO... maybe I'll call it RotN if we get a whole series of bloodstained games but for now it's BS to me. Doesn't bother me what the acronym represents. I call Trails in the Sky TitS without any sense of juvenile delight for example.

I would go with BS RotN. BS by itself and people think of swearing. RotN is good, but I am saving that until Iga makes a second Bloodstained. SotN works because there are multiple CV. So all logic points to BS RotN.

I personally prefer RotN as well, it kind of rolls off the tongue, doesn't share its acronym with something else (nothing that comes to mind anyway), much less swearing. As Thomas mentioned above, it might sound like "Rotten" if pronounced like that (as opposed to "R.O.T.N.") but it's not necessarily a bad thing. So for me it would be either that or simply fully calling the game: "Bloodstained."

I always use the full title when speaking of the game to others, but I'm odd that way. Shortening it would be easier, but people would have no clue what I was taking about.

Yes, if it had to be spoken then full title would be better, that's what I do as well. I'm not sure in this context if the acronym we would use would be typed or spoken; in my previous post it was concerning the former at any rate. To add on, I find "Bloodstained" to be just as short to type as "RotN" so not much effort involved. As a spoken title, "Bloodstained" is also easier - sounds nice, not many syllables, has a better impact.
