Anyone else keeping an eye on the Nintendo's NX release? supposedly the reveal will come really soon. Last week they said the "reveal" will happen on oct. 21st... will happen then, or will it happen sooner? later? Here is the article that said the reveal is " Imminent" Is anyone excited? does anyone even care anymore? |

I am really interested to see what NX turns out to be. I really like Wii U and almost everything about it, but I hope Nintendo will surprise me. I hope the main features will not be augmented reality or something strange..I just want it to be powerfullenough to play HD games in 60fps, who needs more than that? For me DS ruined a lot of games with touch controls on games that dont need it (Dawn of sorrow), while Wii ruined a lot with motion controls (Donkey Kong Country Returns-it is a platformer, I wanted normal controls, not waving with the controller).

I just hope the NX doesn't have a major gimmick that makes it so no third party developer wants to make games for it. I just want to know what games are coming to it and what we can expect from it.

According to rumors, the NX supposed to be at least as powerful as the original ps4... so I think it should play HD games at 60fps. ReySol I know you said you did not want AR to be part of the system but I think that would be kinda cool... I hope it's not part of the core gameplay but can you imagine playing a pokemon game with AR glasses? but yeah, in general, I hope the biggest gimmick Nintendo plans for their new system is being a hybrid gaming console/portable. anyone here concerned with the rumored price?... there's a lot of buzz about the price, many people are disappointed about it, but to me I think $299 is reasonable. |

I'm indifferent towards the NX at this point, but I'm curious to see what it ends up being after years of rumors and not really knowing anything. Maybe it'll surprise everyone in a good way by being a regular console on-par with the Xbone and PS4. Maybe it'll surprise everyone in a bad way by being just a souped-up tablet or smart phone, or another gimmicky console like the Wii and Wii U.
Whatever happens, I just hope it doesn't have to compete with the Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer coming out this week for attention. I can't imagine what it'd be like to work on or look forward to a console for years, only to have a lot of news coverage about it its reveal overshadowed by a game coming out on other consoles. Maybe Nintendo and Rockstar could surprise everyone and announce an NX version of RDR2 at the reveal event.
EDIT: Nintendo of America's twitter posted something! There is a time, but not a day. Maybe it's tomorrow?

This console has been teased for so long by Nintendo that I'm all hyped out and actually a tad skeptical. I think I'll just wait until it's actually released before I look into it further. Any remaining hype and fanfare should have died down by then and serious reviews could be underway by critics and community.

So, we will know more in less than 3 hours. I cannot wait, it has been too long since NX first came up, followed by many rumours and possible concepts. I would like it to be a successor of Wii U in a way that it will support also Wii U games. For the virtual console part of it, will Nintendo again force us to buy new versions of emulated games? I guess it is inevitable, haha

NS. Calls back to the NES. I'd rather have Bloodstained on it than the Wii U.
Those tiny controllers for multiplayer on the go is something I'd have to try to have a legit opinion on, but it looked like you can use the normal controller for that was well. The tiny one would probably limit the experience compared to the main controller.
