Board Games!!

I play a few every now and then with some colleagues. My favorite, thus far, is probably Pandemic. There was one similar to it that i've forgotten the name of that takes place aboard a starship.

I adore board games, always have, but I never met anyone IRL that likes them with me, and I'm not really social so going to some club or whatever just isn't for me, plus my family has no respect for time so I'd never be able to keep any appointments anyway, I practically have to beg to be able to goto work on time. So, despite liking them alot, I never really got to play many.

I think it's a bit of a shame how misunderstood board games are. Kids are exposed to board games with little to no strategy or tactics involved, and soon dismiss them as some kind of sub standard past-time, often never being exposed to anything more advanced than monopoly, which itself is often played improperly, where people don't hold auctions, which makes the game both way more strategic, AND fast.

Have any here ever played Go? It's a marvelously simple game, as far as its rules go, yet exceedingly complex, to the point that the number of possible games of Go exceed the number of atoms in the observable universe, by some estimates. It is a game of strategy that any may learn, yet free are capable of truly mastering. To play a good, protracted game with someone I can match wits with is a true treat, that I too rarely get to enjoy.

the only game I played was Sorry lol. I wanted to get into D&D like games but no one would play them with me (most people I grew up with, thought they were too cool for this)
