Rather than gaming, it'll mostly be anime for me. I have a shit-ton of animes in my hard drive waiting to be watched. Why are you here, stupid vampire!? I shall kill you for the sake of my beloved Tohno-kun! Role-playing aside, I'm right now playing Order of Ecclesia, the first of the three Castlevanias to DS that I didn't played yet. Thinking to play the NES ones too, but maybe they are too difficult for me, lol. And of course, going to replay SotN again, for the fourth time

There have been pretty good games out there, I don't know what you mean that the mobile scene has taken over the game industry, sure some companies now dedicate to mobile gaming *cough konami *cough, but there has been good games throughout this past years. I don't know what year angry birds came out, but I can tell you what good games have come out since last year, to mention some we have, smash bros, hyrule warriors, ToZ a link between worlds, bloodborne, Shadows of Mordor, Bayonetta, PT (even if it was a teaser it was awsome to play), Shovel Knight, Mario Kart 8 and the list can go on and on. This are only from last year and the ones I think people will agree with me, I have many other that I really enjoyed. I think you just got disappointed with the rise on mobile game market but the console game industry is still pretty alive. Ah I caused a misunderstanding here. It's the exact opposite. Not that anyone will care but let me re-say it again. (It maybe an interesting read you know, Ben Judd said it was fate!! lol) I've been playing ONLY mobile games in the past 4-5 years. Because I have been busy with marrying, settling down, work, etc. Now at age 34, it's impossible to sit down in the middle of my house and hook up a console to TV. Anyone here like me? You guys are fans of SOTN of course many of you are around the same age as me. I think you'll know what I mean. The shift just happen to be the same time that mobile games became popular. The same time that these kind of series start to disappear: - Castlevania - Megaman - Suikoden - Breath of Fire - Onimusha - Front Mission - Zone of the Enders - Resident Evil - Metroid - etc. (you get the idea) Only big series like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Call of Duty, GTA, etc,... survived. Mobile games are actually just as good, but in a different way. The social integrations in games are great. It sometimes make me forgot how could I play a game without social functions at all. And just about last month when I started to have more free time and started to miss those games above. I did random google search for something like 'future of castlevania series' and Bloodstained popped-up. It's like Castlevania never disappear from me at all. Sorry for the drama

yeah I understood it was just your personal experiences and not your claim it was gaming in general. But that said I hope you mean marrying as in getting married/recently married...not just being married in general. There's PLENTY of time for games even with work and marriage unless you married a game hater or something....Until you have a kid. then it's game over for about 6 years.
edit: Playing a game now that I wasn't expecting to.. one way heroics. I got it from playism in 2013 and saw it on steam's sale, and I was like "oh yeah, I haven't played that game for over a year, maybe there's a cool new update".. so I'm doing so now =P. Incidentally, though it's on sale for steam for like 1 buck (it's totally worth it), playism has it for 2bucks like all the time (still worth it)... and there's the plus version for 5-6 bucks (didn't try it..despite the base game being worth 5 bucks easily as well, I can't stomach paying 5 bucks for a fairly minor upgrade to a game I purchased for 2 bucks over 2 years ago =P)

Yeah that's why the Vita version will be savior for me.
I pledged $125 so I'll get one physical and one digital copy. One will go to Vita for sure. Another one I'm still deciding between PC, PS4, or a somewhat different Wii U gamepad experience. I don't even have PS4 or Wii U yet though...

I was about to say I don't have either either (why am I the only person who ever seems to have to repeat the same word for two different meanings? One time I've had to repeat it 3 times for 3 different meanings!), if you needed a ps4 you have time... alas, you saved yourself my lecture =P. I love consoles, and I hate pc master race tards..but...I'd get the pc version because physical pc games are kind of a dying breed unlike consoles, despite the pc gaming market itself not dying, a box with a physical copy of one may be special before you realize it.

Sigh.... Ok There was no selection to choose from, there was final fantasy and dragon warrior and that's pretty much it...until phantasy star. Point is selection was REALLY low, nowdays, there are probably 10X more JRPG games released each year than there were before, and JRPG isn't the only genre with such a huge variety to select from. No selection??? Where were you when games like Ultima and Hylide came out? If Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior are the only ones you remember then either you weren't paying attention or your standards are WAY to high. Heck in the SNES era there were MASSIVE numbers of RPGs to pick from, Secret of Mana, Breath of Fire, Chrono Trigger, Lagoon, Earthbound, Terranigma, Brain Lord, Illusion of Gaia, etc. and those were JUST ON NINTENDO! That doesn't even begin to cover Sega, Neo Geo, TurboGrafx 16, and all the other systems out back then. Now I admit that there were plenty of games that were released in Japan that got "over looked" by the "US market" but that was back before the days of the internet when such news could easily be wide spread. Granted, many games nowdays are bad, but many are good too, and I frankly don't think it's that hard to tell which to get. Bad is a relative term. I find that there are many SIMPLE games that are very similar, but I wouldn't call them bad just because of that. Personally I can't stand Candy Crush. Not that I think it's a bad game, I think it's actually a pretty good game. I just am not at all a fan of how the game is presented, run, or used as a profit making tool. But the game itself can be enjoyable and I think is done well. I just am absolutely not a fan. And that's just my opinion. It's a weak character that only enjoys what they have an easy time with IMO. That's a pretty rude and shallow thing to say. Ever think that maybe some people play the games more for the story than the actual game play and might actually be frustrated enough by difficult games that despite them having amazing stories, they never finish the games or won't play them at all? What's wrong with me wanting to get a game like Final Fantasy XIV or Gears of War 3 and wanting an easy mode so that I can quickly progress through the game to focus on the story elements? Some of us don't care about side quests or mini-games or insane difficulty levels, and in fact there are plenty of us that find such things meaningless tedium that are put there for no other reason that so the makers can say their game has more play time. That said, I am not one of those. I find both aspects thoroughly enjoyable. Example: When I first got GoW 3, yes I played the game through on easy mode because I wanted to focus on the main story. But once I finished it the VERY next thing I did was play it again on the next higher difficulty and that time also focused on finding all of the extras. After that I started playing it on the hardcore difficulty. Didn't get very far but I at least gave it a try. But that's me. I know there's more, but nobody is probably even rading anymore. blah. *reading and I read the whole thing...

I think you'll know what I mean. I'm 34, and I play video games at least 4 hours a day in my living room on consoles/pc. You tell that wife of yours you need to amend the wedding vows... "To Love, Honor, and Cherish... ...Castlevania" You tell your boss you need to renegotiate the terms of your employment... "I need full coverage medical, dental, vision, and Castlevania" You tell you kids bedtime stories? So do I... "Once upon a time, there was a powerful hunter named Simon..." Start a petition to change the name of your local little league team to the Transylvania Slayers, Convince local restaurant owners to serve items from the SOTN food menu... and of course there's the great day of Halloween when even you sir, at 34, can be excused to dress as your favorite game character. One of my kids asked me about the Bible once. So I told her it rotates around you in an offset circle 8 style pattern to defend from Medusa heads. Then there was a long weird moment of awkward silence

A GNOME YOU SAY!!!!!!
Speaking of games to play/get, was it just me or did anyone else notice that Steam is doing a bundle for Unreal Gold, Unreal 2, Unreal Tournament 2003, and two of the other UT games for $9.99?

Now I admit that there were plenty of games that were released in Japan that got "over looked" by the "US market" but that was back before the days of the internet when such news could easily be wide spread. I meant no selection relative to nowdays... There are far far more games being made now than before, for virtually every genre, RPG included. This is due to the fact that people don't need to be wealthy studios to make a game for a console, many game engines are free to use, etc. I'm not sure if you missed that point or wish to argue it, I'll just assume you missed it. Granted, many games nowdays are bad, but many are good too, and I frankly don't think it's that hard to tell which to get. Yes, it is relative, which is the point. I'm saying that there is a larger selection of games any potential player wont like, but also, there are plenty of ones they would like as well. But I find many people all too often view the entire gaming industry in a negative light simply because they made a few bad purchases (bad for them). It's a weak character that only enjoys what they have an easy time with IMO. I stand by what I said, given I wasn't talking about anyone in particular, I disagree that it was rude or shallow. I would also like to point out that I never said there was anything wrong with enjoying easy things. I said I think it's weak to ONLY enjoy easy things. I even gave an example that made it clear I wasn't even talking about video games! (incidentally, I don't even mean limited to the realm of games and videogames... other things count as well. Such as cooking or music or something) I really have no opinion on people who like easy games. As a matter of fact I regularly find myself arguing against elitist gamers who think they are somehow superior because they like or can play harder games than the person next to them. I'm talking about everything in life, if you don't like a single thing that you don't find easy, I think that is a negative indication of character. Given that I was responding to some guy who seemed to be acting humble about their own difficulties with a game, but was enjoying it anyway, I was simply saying there's no reason to feel ashamed, that it shows strength of character to enjoy something you may have difficulty with.
