Ok Folks what are your thoughts on Microsoft's big announcement yesterday about FREE reverse/backwards compatibility? I for one am exited and can't wait to play skyrim on my Xbox one (I know it is not on the list yet but it's early). will this change your choice on which console to get Bloodstained on (it wont with me. I will still get my ps4 an gog versions).
And how do you guys feel about Sony completely ignoring the issue (so far). is there even an issue. what are your thoughts?

I don't mind as much since my PS3 still has backwards compatibility for PSX/PS2 games. It just means I won't be tossing it out if I get a PS4.
As for the Xbone, I don't own any of Microsoft's consoles, so I can't say.

i thought the announcement was a good idea, but doesn't it not take affect until later this year, and then only for a minor subset of games available (with the promise of 100+ more at some point in the future)? i'm assuming they have to "recompile" the games from PPC to x86 or build an emulation layer to support this.

Aside from my PS4, I own 2 PS3 systems, so I don't really need compatibility between to different generations. It's a nice thing for the Xbox gamers, it means they can ditch their 360s and go for X1s.

I love backwards compatibility. I switch out my consoles because of space and safety issues so plugging out one to put in another is a real pain in the neck.
