Well I thought it would be nice to discuss how is IGA going to appear on as the backer exclusive superboss as stated in the KS page: " Update 20: Sword or Whip Results, Boss Reveal, and the Pyrite Coin
He won't look like that—not even a little like that—but we had Kari Fry create this remarkable artist's depiction for a reason. That backer-exclusive boss? It will be IGA.
He was reluctant to include himself in the game like this—even as an eldritch easter egg—but he relented when he saw fans talking about the possibility. Look, take my word for it: You've never been beaten into the ground and eviscerated by a nicer guy. " Here are some topics worth talking about:• How hard should it be? • How many forms should have? • What should be his drop? • Should it be required to beat the game to be able to face IGA or just having a backer copy and the necessary equipment is enough to challenge him? • Do you think it should be aviable for DLC so other backers can butt heads with IGA? Personally, as a superboss, I think it should be way harder than the final boss, ala Galamoth in SOTN, and in nightmare difficulty it should be the hardest boss in the whole game. Also it would be nice if IGA dropped the legendary swordwhip or/and a really broken soul to almost kill all enemies in 1 or 2 hits like red Minotaur in aria. A cool mechanic could be that IGA starts like Olrox in SOTN, similar to his sprite used in swordorwhip.com/ and after a 1v1 duel he morphs into es into some kind of bizarre vampiric monster.

I always pictured this fight to be similar to any Belmont fight. I'm pretty sure they intend for the swordwhip to be his drop, and I'd say that will pretty much be it. Perhaps a rare alchemy item or something of that nature. I also imagine he will be available to fight anytime from the main menu, but if he's extremely difficult you might be waiting until endgame anyway. I don't really have much of an opinion on his difficulty, but on the subject in general, I do hope there will be a optional/hidden boss that is stronger than the final boss. Galamoth was always intriguing because of that. And I'm pretty sure they intend for him to stay "backer only". I imagine people will get angry if they end up offering him to everyone as download content.

I'm personally hoping for a super hard "fight against yourself" type of super boss myself. Like, a doppelgänger, shadow link, shadow self, reflection etc. etc. type of thing. These type of fights has always been the most fun to me....what better way to prove you got skills than to fight against yourself with all the best souls, magic spells, equipment and so on, lol. Hopefully without exploitable A.I.

I'm also fairly certain the IGA boss will fight with and drop the Swordwhip (I do not know if that was confirmed of course but I'm betting on this being the case). I suspect 2 forms as is classic and for him to be the hardest boss in the game; and how can IGA NOT rise off a throne before kicking our asses?
Now as for whether or not the boss/weapon will be made available as DLC later, I find that a very touchy issue with people. I myself honestly want the IGA fight and the Swordwhip to remain exclusive to backers, so that whenever we play online and use it, people will know "hey cool, that player was a backer!"
I've also been told that my mentality is, forgive me for being crude, that of an asshole who just wants to show off his internet boner by showing off gear that players who didn't back will never have. "Hey man, did you want to back but couldn't? Didn't have the money at the time? To young to back at the time? SCREW YOU LOOK AT MY SWAG I PAID FOR AND YOU CANT HAVE IT!" A friend and I had a pretty nasty argument about this, as he fervently believes that holding something as significant as a boss and unique weapon "hostage" is a purely dick move, ESPECIALLY if they never sell it down the line.
Now for a less personal matter: how to price it if they do sell it? Shall we be reasonable and say $5? With the base digital game being $28 as per the tiers, that'd be $33 for the game and backer DLC. So those of us who shelled out $60 for the physical copy with the content: is $27 purely for a box and backer-exclusive slip case worth it?

I think its right that as we have the ($60) backers edition we should get a little something extra (that and i think IGA is too modest to put himself in the regular version of the game). As for what the boss is going to be like i have no clue but i'm sure he'll confound our expectations with his usual creativity. Whatever the boss turns out like i'm sure it will have a sense of humour. BloodyTears92 your friend is just WRONG (it's the opposite of a dick move). All the boss represents is just a little extra content for us at the end of the game when we've finished the rest of the game (assuming we can locate the boss), yes i'm sure the weapon he drops will be OP but the point is we'll have killed everything the hard way by the time we acquire the weapon. If your friend wanted the extra weapon he should have shown faith in the project and backed. The extra boss is our reward for having faith in IGA so no it should not be available for all as DLC.

I for some reason picture the IGA boss being a callback to dracula but super hard and fun. It just seems appropriate considering that most of the people backing this were fans of castlevania and it would be an amazing treat for IGulA to be hidden deep in there somewhere. Hopefully he just concedes defeat and leaves instead of dying so you can farm a super special shard and weapon drop!
Also as for bloodytears92's friend there are plenty of opportunities to slackerback still to this day, this offer has been open for way more than a generous amount of time. While I personally don't care if it is open to every as dlc later I also feel that everyone was given a fair shot at acquiring these bonuses.
For pricing though I believe the retail game should be 60 USD on release and we just got it at a discount for backing. So $5-$10 sounds appropriate if they release kickstarter stuff later.
Edit: Just to add to the backer argument, limited edition items have been around for thousands of years and will continue for thousands more. Sooo yeeaahh.... it's just kinda something you have to get used to.

Hmm...I think the battle will be extremely hard, like retaining all of his health after each form-change or having a way to regain HP. But, no perfect form since "There is no such thing as perfection. You're as beautiful as you are, Courage. Even with your imperfections, you can do anything. Ahem...jokes aside. Three forms: Doppleganger, Beast-like, and then the "True" form. That is just what I think though.
The IGA boss seems like something that would appear after the you beat the game. Considering, how the fact it's supposed to be "super-hard", it would probably be a death wish to fight it before building yourself up.
I know nothing about DLC. But, they could do a couple of things with it other than just adding the boss. As for the Boss itself...I don't think they'll add it.
Holding content hostage? Clearly, bloodtears92's friend has never played a game where they micro-transaction you to death to unlock actual parts of the game. That is holding content hostage and just plain extortion. Everyone had the chance to get the backer content....not like you need it to finish the game.

There are a lot of ways to look at this. I can absolutely understand where he and the many people who share that mindset are coming from and truthfully I can agree with the sentiment.
What about a younger fan who cant back a project on his/her own and when asked, his/her parents refused? That person will NEVER be able to get the content and there was nothing they could do about it. What about a fan who's been going through a hard time regarding their finances and could not commit to the project because of that?
And of course, the idea of having content separated for only a select group has always been contentious. Just look at Pre-order culture. Now there is an important, inherent difference between a KS project and pre-ordering, but if this game were a sure-fire thing made by a publisher, and it came out as "pre-order to get an exclusive boss and weapon" the gaming community would be FURIOUS at the idea of locking off such important content forever, and rightly so. The very idea of "pay ahead of time for this game that may not be good so you can get things nobody else will get" is coming under a lot of well-deserved fire as of late.
The real heart of the matter here is an unfortunate one: no matter what Inti Creates decides, a group of people will be angry. If Inti decides to agree with us, that we are backers, and as such deserve exclusive in-game content, then there is going to be a lot of resentment from people who wanted to back, but could not, or people who never knew about the campaign to begin with and feel cheated out of cool stuff. Vice versa, if Inti sells the content later as DLC, well, a lot of the backers are going to feel cheated and less special.
Another counter-argument I know can and will come up is that a lot of us backed at above the base $60 pledge for the content. Full disclosure for the sake of example: I pledged $150 to the project. Someone is absolutely going to look at me and say "You have a hardcover artbook and soundtrack that will never be sold in stores, you've got exclusive box art AND a collectible sleeve, your name is in the credits, do you need in-game exclusives on top of all that to feel special?
Its touchy, it really is. And it all has to do with the fact that we are getting items and battles in-game that will be exclusive to us. Nobody can complain about physical items like art-books or soundtracks or stained glass statues, but extra content in the game itself? That will never not be touchy.

That person will NEVER be able to get the content and there was nothing they could do about it. What about a fan who's been going through a hard time regarding their finances and could not commit to the project because of that? That sort of thing is character building, this hypothetical young fan should just suck it up and hope that one of his friends pledged $60 and opted for the GOG DRM free version (not for someone to go "there there dry your eyes have this extra content later down the line, and a biscuit and some warm milk"). As i've said before i think that putting himself in the game was a hard thing for IGA to do simply because he's to modest to want that. What he did is bow to fan pressure and consented for an IGA-Boss to be included in the $60+ tier Special Edition of the game - i really dont think he'd want it to be more widespread than that, he's just not that vain. In my view its a totally different thing from pre order culture because it comes down to wether you trust the person at the head of the project to do it right and the extra content is a reward for our trust and faith, he's just saying thank you for support when he needed it - i get the feeling he was overwhelmed by the level support he received for this and was not expecting it.

I want what makes the most people happy so the game will do that much better. I won't mind as much if the content remains backer-only/becomes available widely. It was indeed stated that these things were backer-only content, though...
The thing is, regarding people that may feel like they missed out, they haven't...as has been pointed out by zero and others. The campaign has arguably been "live" for well over a year now. The igavania.com/back Fangamer backing lets everyone pledge up to the $500 mark, still inclusive of the backer-only extras. If someone missed out over the span of (I'm going to guess) nearly two years, or couldn't save up $ in that span of time, then...? Wouldn't have all that much sympathy, haha.
I think it's more likely that they would want to hop on the HYPE TRAIN only after the game is already out and proven to be the good product we knew it would be, years in the making. Many shun pre-orders and buy only after they have seen reviews or video coverage. I actually respect that, it's part of being a smart consumer in a way. Like I said, too, I'm actually fine with things we received as extras being purchasable for them later...but they should not decry the content as an injustice, that they deserve it and so on. If it's available, happy days, but if it's not, then the consumer shouldn't be surprised.

That is the nature of capitalism. You have to be opportunistic to jump at the chance and take a leap of faith. It may work out or it may not. Besides, 28$ is small compared to 50+$ pre-order games with exclusive content.

I think that IGA should be VERY difficult, as he is the only confirmed optional boss, and I also think that he should have between 2-3 forms, each new one harder than the last. You gotta FIGHT for those ultimate weapon alchemy drops! >:D

I don't know man, if after a year or more you couldn't get $60 even as a kid, you have greater issues than just not being able to play a videogame. Asking your parents for 5 dollars a month is good enough. Personally I think about these exlusive rewards like IGA said, a personal thank you for helping him in his time of need. It would seem dishonest to backtrack on their word just to make some more cash along the way like MN9 did with "exlusive" fan DLC.

Reminiscent of Julius Belmont, or any Belmont battle in general. Julius is basically a palette swap of Iga-san, minus the hat Oh, and he should have some amazing engrish lines like when he said "Die monster" in the Mega64 video, that was great.
