I'll say this as succinctly as possible.
This thread is a bad idea for the same reason threads titled "Is Blodstained:RotN only for white people?" or "Is Bloodstained:RotN only for heterosexuals?" would be.
Women interested in the game will come when they come, if they want to come. Discussing them in their absence as if we were a bunch of old people in a marketing department of a megacorp, or "great white hunters" discussing the "noble savages" of Africa is a TERRIBLE idea, and that's exactly what this thread comes off as. Even though I know that wasn't OP's intention. Posts that include sentences like "Well, I know some females who like the sexy female enemies more than males do!" are insulting towards women to a demented degree. Yes, lesbians exist, and straight women who have a certain level of appreciation for the female form exist too. Why are you discussing them like they were an exotic sight, or bigfoot, or something?
There. After a few edits, I managed to get out everything I said without exploding.

And I don't assume this game is "male only" I just noticed that most of the members were male... I wanted to know what woman thought of the game. that is all. I'm wondering how many people were mad at the thread title, and did not read the posts in the thread? I have nothing against the moderation on this forum. I just have a tendency to brutally explode at stupid things things I subjectively find stupid, and although I've never been banned, I've been warned several times by the mods on the Subterranean Games forum to keep it down.

I myself am tiring to get my girl into gaming... the thing she likes the most is the stories... I lived in a place where girls kick guy's asses on games all the time. and how they talk about games were different then guys... where as (most, not all) guys like the "cool" factor of a game, girls went more for the art style (that is how I started to notice a game's art style).... ok bottom line, I know how I stated it was wrong but in truth, I truly respect all opinions on gaming and that was what I was tiring to find here, a different opinion. |
