I love podcasts. Most of my life is spent in a small cubicle visible to my other co-workers. What they see is me with my headphones on working away, but what they don't see is me enjoying some of the best entertainment of my week. Here are a few podcasts I listen to.
PixelTunes Radio: Miketendo from Dude You Haven't Played This Game Yet on Youtube is a Bloodstained backer and huge Castlevania fan. He cohosts with Ed Wilson aka Ruiner9 who has a TON of VGM rips. This show features a wide array of Video Game Music (VGM) both old and new school. Their episodes are on iTunes, Stitcher, their website www.pixeltunesradio.com and on Youtube. Their FACEBOOK GROUP is extremely active an entertaining.
Heres their Castlevania episode (#20):
Metroidvania Mayhem: A new show that is only up to episode 4. Bloodstained was announced during episode 3. One host is a huge Castlevania SotN fan, and the other a huge Metroid fan. They play a game, then rate it and discuss it on the show. So far, Guacamelee takes the title of #1, but they haven't had but 4 shows. I am eagerly waiting for when they discuss SotN. Find them on Stitcher and iTunes.
Mystic Party: Brea and Zane Grant are siblings who specialize in the paranormal. Zane is a professor of occult studies, and Brea is southern California's leading psychic. Guests on their show often have problems such as being haunted by the "ghost tickles", abducted by aliens, or their unicorn seems to be faulty. Once they even had Krampus as a guest. You might recognize Brea if you watched Heroes. She was the fast one. She was also on Dexter, and recently was on the big screen in a bit part on Pitch Perfect 2. She lives with Kevin Pereira, the host from G4s Attack of the Show. His podcast is ok sometimes. Anyways, you can find Mystic Party on Stitcher, iTunes and Feral Audio.
Bigger Show Podcast: These guys make movies. They also made that bad ass audio show called Bram Stoker's Castlevania that happens to be the best thing on the internet. I'll link to it (again) below. Anyways, We're Gonna Need a Bigger Show podcast tackles the latest in movie entertainment news, and often focuses on film making discussion. Check them out on iTunes and Stitcher.
We Have Concerns: Two guys talk about weird science news. They are pretty funny, and release a lot of episodes. You can find them on Stitcher and iTunes.
Rachel and Miles X-Plain the X-Men: These two amazing people have decided to go through ALL of X-Men and the X-Men spin off books such as New Mutants and explain the whole damn plot... retcons and all. God bless them with that. It's a great show! Check them out on Stitcher and iTunes.
Welcome to Nightvale: A very popular community broadcast for the town of Nightvale. The radio host Cecil Baldwin survives and reports on his unconventional little community. You never know when you might get a visit from the Mighty Glow Cloud (All hail) or have to fight off an invasion from the population of tiny people who live under the bowling ally. It's a popular podcast that you can find on Stitcher and iTunes.
Other shows I like include; Kinda Funny Gamecast, Video Game Hangover, The SNES Podcast, Retro Obscura Podcast, You're Welcome World News (parody), Nerdist, Tech News 2Night, StarTalk, BrainStuff and Stuff You Should Know. If you don't mind dead shows that get no new episodes, go through Crash Course in Awesome. That's a great one.
So, do you like podcasts? If so which ones and why?
