Another point regarding platforms other than Steam, their intention is to have the demo only live for a few months. If it were released DRM free or on consoles, it would be bit harder to make that possible...and harder certainly to keep it just for backers as a thank you. Point, though the DRM is in the download through Steam. Once you've done that, you can copy the demo itself ad nauseam and play it offline at will. S'how I got my copy running without Steam. Seems like GOG wouldn't make much difference as long as it wasn't publicly available, only valid via gift codes and what not. Still, it's not worth complaining over a simple demo. |
