I'm excited it's finally happening. Had guessed it would a while ago but it's nice that it is official. And not a 'leak' from the HD screen shots in the rereleased hard cover strategy guides.

Looks to me like the UI takes cues from FF14 at least a bit. Anyhow I might not be the biggest FF fan in the world but I do loved FFT and enjoyed FFTA/FFTA2 despite their... lesser state compared to their predecessor. So Ivalice holds a special place in my heart and thus I was hoping an FF12 remake or remaster would happen so I could add that to my list of games played.
Edit: Also I recall hearing Balthier's suave voice and manner when seeing a FFT:WotL cutscene on youtube and that'd be worth the price of admission by itself.

actually, 14 takes a lot of ui and gameplay cues from this game, mmos in general and uses 13s font for numbers and such, and yes, fran and balthier are one of the best han and chewie pairings ive ever seen

OH ! That's a good new this Star Wa*... I mean, this Final Fantasy gets a remake ! IMO, it is one of the most underrated FF because many of fans were distract by the new real-time gameplay (which is the same gameplay-base for FFXV and FFVII Remake btw). It's still one of my favorite for the rich world it has. Ivalice is a really beautiful world and has a great lore ! I hope it will be available for PC but, to be fair, the exclusive PS4 are only for the big noisy announces (FFVII Remake and FFXV again). I'm glad to see that, even though I know it's a whole business market to remake every well sold games of the past but still, I'll be happy to play it on my laptop wherever I go ! * For those who didn't get the joke, FFXII is a whole easter egg of Star Wars saga. Play it with this being known and you'll find everything related !  |

While not my favorite FF, this is definitely something worth getting excited for. Much more excitement then FFXHD, at least.
Now hopefully Vaan can get a shirt for a DLC item...

vans outfit isnt anywhere near as stupid as yellow vest wierd overalls, but hopefully they make the 'im captain basch fon ronsenburg of dalmasca!' part a little less cringeworthy, maybe record a couple more lines?

I never tried the game, but this is a good opportunity to give it a shot.
I had actually picked up a blind box FF figure and was disappointed that it was the only character I didn't really know that much about, which was Balthier. Maybe I'll hold on to it and come to really like the character, sounds like I would from what I do know ;p
The only thing past X that I've even tried was the XIII-...2? demo (or was that Lightning Returns? I don't know), and it was uh...grandiose and overdesigned with like Facebook integration lol. Dammit Square, make fantasy games...but yeah, XII is set in Ivalice as I understand it and I love FFT to death, so I might enjoy it...despite the battle system being what seems like a not-online MMO.

Pssst, Square! How about a good port of FFT for either PC or PS4 while you're at it? And by good I mean one that doesn't have Vita WoL slowdowns and isn't a lazy port of mobile version of WoL that dials home each time you play. PS2. Damn, that game had great soundtrack. |

FF14's staff is primarily composed of those who worked on FF12, including but not limited to Yoshida the producer. That's why you can spot a lot of similarities in their UI choices and general aesthetic. Strange in a way as I practically hate FF12, but love FF14. |

I hope they have the international content. (Where you get to fight the Judges) I've heard it's one of the hardest battles in gaming history, and I would LOVE to give a crack at it. :p
