It looks beautiful! I love how the game is coming to life. Animations look rich. The monster Morte is very interesting and creepy, it reminds me of Silent Hill, because of the way it walks and because he is deformed - I love that! Morte in Italian means Death. I wonder if we will also have a boss Death, I hope we will. I can never get enough of him, it was always one of my favorite bosses. Death is not just a monster, it is the ultimate enemy for all of us which makes it so intimidating,

Dullahammer is my favorite by far. That guy looks like he means business! Totally agree with that ! He could say : "You had fun with the Mortes Miriam, but now, you are dealing with me." *smashing his own head on the ground* I like the concept his using his head as a flail ! The design is pretty badass and looks fierce ! It reminds me of the Ekarissor in Final Fantasy. They look like they can inflict many damages while being able to take a lot of yours, like most of Armored Knights in SOTN for instance. The Morte is a good starting monster, I like it. Perhaps it looks "shiny" because we only see the grid map for now but according to the shaders we saw, I think it will look just fine within the levels we'll explore. Also, I have to agree with our human Miriam. The character looks absolutely awesome ! The pose is much more feminine and elegant. I like the kick motion and the way the monster dies. I hope we won't one shot it at the start already though ! Anyway, I'm excited to see more monsters and combat updates ! Thank you IGA, IntiCreates and everyone else involved into the project !

All right, what a great vibe on the enemies!
Dullahammer is particularly well done. I was staring at the orange part on his head before reading the text, and I kept thinking, "That looks like the inside of a sea urchin." And then I realized his armor also looked a lot like a sea urchin. And then I read the text. So one thing I love about it - the inspiration is clear, but it's not overly blatant.
Also, that's a very interesting enemy disintegration animation! Sort of a burning/cinder quality to it.

They may come across as a bit underwhelming because the creatures are still a work in progress. Once they're tweaked and polished up a bit, they'll be just fine.
Seama - Love this one. My first impression is that this ravenous amphibian appears as though it might be able to leap a fair distance. Looks somewhat like a cross between a long-finned Koi fish and a Tooth Fairy from Hellboy ll.
Dullahammer - Looks brutal, rock-hard, mental and unpredictable. Adore the spiky/thorny armour. Wonder if he'll be able to generate enough centripetal spin on his crazy head to actually elevate himself off the ground as a last resort if he finds himself losing his fight?
Morte - As one or two members have replied, this bubbling creature has 'zombie' written all over it. Its body looks like oily, magnetic thinking putty. Moves creepily enough. Could several of these meld and form a bigger enemy version? This monster has potential.

Everything is looking great. I'm glad they included a video showing off some stuff in motion. The update would have been a little lackluster without it.
Also, it is interesting that the old Dullahan has been demoted to regular-ass enemy for Bloodstained. At least he will be large and menacing in his Dullahammer version. I, too, think it is really cool for him to use his head as a flail. The head needs to be knocked clean from the rest of the body as part of the death animation for Dullahammer.
Keep up the good work IGA and team!
EDIT: Did you guys notice the font they are using for the damage numbers!? It looks like the same one used in Lament of Innocence or some other IGAvania. The point is that it is an awesome Castlevania-esque font. So glad it is being used! Most excellent.

Here's the animation in what I think is a more natural resolution (and thus a higher quality though smaller image): EDIT: Meh, this came out just as large and as blurry as the video in the OP Nevermind that bit. Highlights include Miriam's "sassy" idle stance and Miriam's "combat ready" stance Something that good/strong animation does is give insight into the personality or machinations of a character overall (or in the moment). "Character acting" or "Character Animation". What I like about what I see here is that theses stances give off a sense of confidence and power. I think that overall bodes well for the type of character Miriam will be even though we have little direct insight into characterization or personality (though as always I hope they don't too far on the stoic scale). In addition to beauty, the implication is that she has brawn (which I'm sure will only further become evident as we see more of her combat repertoire). Now we just need to see the "brains" and we are all set

The movement cycle of the Morte is somewhat disturbing. At one angle it looks like it is walking backwards towards you and from another angle it looks like it is walking forwards towards you. Overall, everything looks quite impressive.

Morte is getting a lot of criticism but I feel I must add to it. I love this idea of a monster but when I read it's description, "this mud-like creature can't hold its shape", then saw it jut arms out of its body so quick I couldn't help but think there's a contradiction there, given its an early design so things can change. I hope the developers realize this and emphasize that description in it's attacks as well.
EDIT: I didn't realize Morte had bones so perhaps the mud like substance, Morte, is wrapping itself around a corpse. It's attack animation is much more reasonable to me now.

Heh, "old witch/pretty girl dual face", well played. I haven't seen that optical illusion in ages. But yeah, it does look like it has two faces with the red spot on the top of its head and black "mouth" it has below the eyes.

I think it is cool that Morte is basically a backwards-walking zombie blob. It is a cool touch to see the legs inverted and the rib cage sticking out of the back. I like it.

Spellings may change, but for now we're keeping it the way it is.
