I believe a thread like this was done before on some fashion or another but I can't find it and want to see this through again anyway now that more time has passed and probably more people visit around the forums I wonder which familiars would people favor. First, with the high amount of budget that was raised in combination with the backing of the publisher am curious if it's now possible to include more than 2 familiars but if it still won't cut I'd like to see which ones people favor the most. For me I really like the one regarded as the "scary" one, the grim reaper, it looks a lot like Death and it's cool to have something like that as a familiar. It's also reminiscent of the Corpsey Innocent Devil in Curse of Darkness, that style of a partner. Also, scythe, and a bone red scythe at that.  |

On the forum, Goofball wins it free. If you can change your poll, you should take the first one out as currently "What is your favorite familiar?" is one of the options.
I think knight took it because it's a very "safe" design, just decently cool looking without bothering anyone.

Lookin' back Goofball probably would have been my choice. I began to realize that the best SOTN familiars or why they worked were because they had personality and Goofball has the most of it and also the most potential.

I just thought I'd make this poll and if Mana or any of the higher ups take notice it might make a difference. |

Yeah the knight is cool, all of the designs have their traits, if possible I'd include all of them. But if a style would make it I'd love that sort of scary villain type for a familiar. |

Between the Knight and the Fairy I'd go with the Knight because I like his art better. Yeah, the art work looks better in my opinion too. It would be great to have more infos about each's properties. I wonder if the fairy will have the same powers as the pixie in SOTN (detecting secret paths / walls that can be hitted). I hope it will be a less passive familiar. Maybe it could resplanish a very tiny part of HP or mana, makes you 2-4% faster, lighter (higher jump) or something. Or maybe I shouldn't judge her by her cute appearance ! ha ha ! |

The possibilities are endless, I imagine there's going to be more depth than SOTN but probably not as much as Curse of Darkness but if it's anything as half as good as that that then it should be great.

From the pictures based in the op. B and c hands down. Theain character tends to be badass enough to provoke violence on the enemies.
The familiars supporting that in any way are the best. Rocked fairy in SotN the most followed by the sword. Abilities coming from the families would be fun too. "Gather brother soul blade!"

I voted for the Knight and I stand by that decision. It just looks the coolest - especially with the "coming out of the portal" thing. It also reminded me the most of a Stand so that was pretty appealing to me. Plus would we have gotten sweet fanart like the below if another familiar won? I THINK NOT!!! I think im alone here but frankly I tend to dislike familiars... Ones that are useful in combat that is. I like battling foes myself, not watch something else do it for me. Or god forbid, worry about a familiar getting themselves killed if possible.
Useless(in battle) doesntget involved familiars like navi are ok though. Not navi specifically, but you know what I mean... They often provide dialogue opportunities that wouldnt exist othwrwise.

well, true, but like wanting to only play with starting equipment or subweapons only, its an option, i seriously doubt this game will be centered around familiars like cod was, so not wanting to use them? awesome, thats your playstyle, and there may be a utility familiar in the game that does things like point out enemy weaknesses or drops or if you sacrifice some health or mp to it itll do a check of the room youre in and let you know if theres a secret in a sort of hot/cold response so you dont have to open the bestiary to check, and youre given hints without being outright given the secret rooms ^_^
