Alongside other great video-game series/franchises, I've been a fan of the "The Elder Scrolls" series since back in 2002, when The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind was released. To this day, I'm still of the opinion that TESIII is the best in the series (for many more reasons than just simple nostalgia).
A little more than a month ago, the TES Renewal team released their latest development video for "Skywind", a total-conversion Mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
They are trying to somewhat emulate the Morrowind experience, but at the same time add their own new twist (aside from the obvious updated graphics, which alone don't make the game).
They're not even close to being finished, and I still can't help but be a little excited.

Only played Skyrim Never played any of the old Elder Scrolls before I'm not much of a gaming guy before I study overseas Who knows? You might enjoy "Skywind" more than Skyrim.  Though, if you have the time, you can also buy the original game (The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind) on Steam. It's sometimes offered in deals with a drastically-reduced price (usually during Summer sales). Morrowind's gameplay is quite different from Skyrim, though. It may take some getting used to. |

I've played every game, didn't finish the first two though lol.
I'm not really into Skywind though, I'd love a huge mod of places I've never been instead, even if it's not entirely accurate to ES lore.

I've probably played Morrowind 1K+ hours. Didn't like Oblivion... Skyrim was pretty neat... but nothing beats Morrowind, though.

I've been following this off and on, though I must say they're making fantastic progress! While nothing will ever compare to the original morrowind (for me personally) I'll still give this a shot because of the sheer effort that went into making this on their own time. That's damn impressive!
