Hello everybody! I'm Ramzo Wily, lead guitarist for the horrorpunk band the ReDeads, and a long time Igavania fan and on and off poster on this forum. My band wrote, recorded, and released a song based off of Bloodstained on our album that came out last Halloween called "Walk at Midnight." I'll go ahead and post the video here, but for anyone interested there's a lot more I can talk about it so feel free to read below before listening:
I actually originally wrote and recorded the demo for this song while the kickstarter was still running, but I didn't post about it then because I had to do the vocals for the demo and my singing voice is... well... horrible. So I delayed until my full band could record the song, which ended up being a long wait, and even longer until it was ready to release. I still didn't post here about it when the album was released because I was trying to make a music video for it but life got in the way and I didn't finish that video until today. So yeah. It's done now, so yay!
All the footage for the video comes from my actual first playthrough of the game, which was within the first month of release, so please no complaints about my play style (or complain, I don't actually care). I naturally gravitate toward a certain style of play that is definitely not optimum but it's how I like to play. A lot of the clips have me using the peeping eye equivalent shard (can't remember what it's called in this game), mainly because they changed how to turn those shards on and off during my playthrough and I didn't realize it until almost the end and thought it was just glitched.
The song lyrically is pretty basic - I didn't have a lot to work off of because all the information I had was from the somewhat bare bones (in terms of story) kickstarter announcement. Musically, I throw in a little nod to the Bloodstained theme. See if you can spot it. I may give a little hint in the video as to where it might be.
I also wanted to mention that our previous album, ReDeads Ate My Neighbors, featured a song called Dracula's Curse that is basically about CV3, though I was also inspired by Rondo/Symphony. I personally hate the track but everyone tells me it's better than I think it is so I guess I'll let you guys decide for yourselves if you're interested. You can check it out here:
