Hoonters must hoont!
I'm an obscenely powerful Arcane build who will die like a chump because of the inept player at the controller.
Anyone else here a player that wants to watch me die?

That sounds enjoyable lol. Watching others play Souls games is always fun I need to get XombieMike back into his playthrough. Last I heard, he was at the Blood-starved Beast.

I don't do the streaming thing. I meant either joining my game so you can watch me die or allowing me to die in your own game.
I'm an equal opportunity corpse.

One of my favorite games ever basically. All the good of Souls + faster, visceral combat + Victorian setting + Lovecraft atmosphere done right.
It's a masterpiece, really. Trick weapons were so good that I couldn't change my weapon of choice for the entire playthrough. I ended up doing 5 playthroughs, each with a different weapon. Be it swiftly dicing enemies with the Blades of Mercy or smashing Maria into the dust with the Kirkhammer, it was never less than incredible. I love BB so much.

Dear oh dear, what was it? The hunt, the blood, or the horrible dream?
No words can express just how much I love Bloodborne. Honestly, it stems from the fact that I am a Castlevania fan before playing Bloodborne. Something about Gothic horror and Victorian settings captivates me.
Imagine if Yuka Kitamura was a part of Bloodstained's music team. It'd be a sanguasm (sanguine orgasm)
As much as I think that the Threaded Cane is a cool weapon to use when pretending to be a Belmont, the Hunter's Axe and Ludwig's Holy Blade are just too awesome not to use. My love for axes and glowing swords (like the Claimh Solais) just makes me happy. It's these games that make me feel like a kid all over again.

Bloodborne has me quite curious. I've been playing Dark Souls for the first time lately, and I'm enjoying it quite a bit. One of the things I really like about Dark Souls, however, is the slow combat. I think it's quite refreshing to play an Action RPG that manages to be challenging without being twitchy. How must faster is Bloodborne, and about how long does it take to adjust?
I don't have a PS4, though, so I'm solely asking out of idle curiosity.

@autumn It's not "too fast". You're just more mobile and enemies move a little faster, that's pretty much it. If you had a Dark Souls character in the Bloodborne world, it'd still work.
Bloodborne isn't necessarily faster. What makes it seem fast is the fact that most of your gameplay consists of: 1. Taking back lost HP by attacking after being hit 2. Not having a shield, which means you actively have to evade 3. You have a gun, you use it to Parry enemies. They become vulnerable so you can perform visceral attacks. Compared to parrying with a shield, you have to use it with a gun. 4. The game encourages you to play very aggressively because of how your trick weapons work 5. Blood vials are limited resource, it depletes completely and you have to farm it for a while
Compared to Dark Souls: 1. Defensive in playstyle, consists of parrying with a shield or blocking attacks with it 2. Strafing and waiting for the perfect moment to attack, like a fighting game 3. Estus chugging 4. Less vulnerable 5. DODGE ROLL FOR DAYS
The adjust won't take long. It happens as soon as you fight either the Cleric Beast or Father Gascoigne. That's where you realize "oh shite, this is Bloodborne, not Dark Souls". You notice that the enemies want to KILL YOU. In Dark Souls, they want to have an honorable battle with you.
Same gameplay, different game.... Does that makes sense?

omg i remember my first time fighting Gascoigne. it was so intense and fun, shooting at each other and moving around like crazy using the trees and tombstones to gain enough distance and try to heal until he releases his inner furry and proceeds to kick your ass. easily my favorite Souls game fight.
If only Miyazaki realized how much we NEED Bloodborne2.

Might get PS5. Hopefully it can take PS4 discs. Getting this, God of War and Bloodstained. Thought I would have money for a console before the game was to be released, but nope.

If only Miyazaki realized how much we NEED Bloodborne2. He does. He's just being 'creative' (read: HIGH DICKERY) about it.
Bloodborne, as a professional, is job security. However, topping it is a true son of a bitch because the plot is tight and complete in and of itself. The lore of Yharnam is completely explored leaving no stone unturned. Even the history, locales, and players are all well defined.
He may need time to actually formulate something, not from a gameplay angle, but from the angle of immersion that he demands of his games. He's also not one to make 'direct' sequels of this kind of game that cearly follow one game after another chronologically.
There is only one angle I can think of, and that's the Vilebloods. In resurrecting the Queen Annelise and perhaps the child of Oedon and Arianna (theoretically) that may have escaped (the wee thingie you kill may not have been the only one) it's possible that new, vampiric foes could become the focus of a new Bloodborne.
We'll see. Miyazaki is aware of the clamour for the game in his apology and removal of Bloodborne Easter Eggs in Sekiro that became too numerous (his opinion, anyways).
Again, HIGH DICKERY.
ADDENDUM: I forgot that there is also the 'East' which is only briefly mentioned in the DLC when you Yamamura the Wanderer's garb. If hunters are a thing worldwide...
